Interesting to hear him talking about Inside No.9 before any publicity cycle for it- it is a little endearing that he seemed to be legitimately nervous about the reception it would face.

Reece Shearsmith is absolutely gorgeous and such an amazing and incredibly talented actor. A natural comedian but can offer such depth in drama and a real chill in his horror roles. A wonderful singer too! Wish we could see more of him on screen!

I know - who the hell is in the audience? They haven't seen 'Theatre of Blood', one of the finest horror films of all time - and arguably the finest British horror movie ever made. I guess they are League of Gentlemen fans, but even that baffles me as LOG borrows so heavily from this genre of seventies horror, you'd imagine they too were fans of these movies. Perhaps the average age of the audience at this event in 14???? Weird!

It's a magnificent film. They had me with Vincent Price's performance, but I mainly watch it for Diana Rigg. 😍

Actually Reece would make a great Doctor Who. Theatre of Blood, classic film. In just one scene we have Vincent with Emma Peel, Captain Mainwaring and Miss Marple.

Love all the Doctor Who stuff near the end - he was out by one Doctor on the woman thing! We never want to have been without Capaldi though. 😲🤤

I also love how he states he's a Season 22 fan which I suppose makes sense considering it's home to some of the darkest most grotesque stories.

Who is the useless host? There are too many student-ey, generic questions about acting and horror and not nearly enough about the movie RS is there to discuss, Theatre of Blood! And the stars of this wonderful movie too - I want to hear Reece talk about the great Vincent Price! It's surprising how often these kinds of events - where the star of a classic movie or a prestigious fan like RS - turn up to discuss it, and then thanks to poor hosting they talk about everything but the movie they are there to introduce and watch! I wanted to hear Reece's reasons for loving Theatre of Blood - how old was he when he first saw it? And I want to hear him talk about its star, the great Vincent Price. VP was a fascinating man, a total one-off who was unbelievably talented, charismatic and complex. He was a legend in his lifetime and beyond, and a chat about him would have been fitting and fascinating! Vincent Price also incidentally, met his last wife and the love of his life on this movie - the amazing Australian actress Coral Browne, who played one of the Critics Circle. In the movie's best comic murder, Vincent posed as a camp hairdresser called (what else) Butch, and killed her with electric hair curlers! That most of the audience who attended this had never seen Theatre of Blood makes me despair - who the hell turned up, were they all teenagers? Why are they interested in Reece Shearsmith, League of Gents etc if they are not fans of the classic 'seventies movies that have informed so much of his work? It makes me suspect these events are merely shallow celebrity autograph opportunities, and not for real fans of vintage horror and great stars like the impeccable cast of Theatre of Blood. Alas, I fear the screening of the movie was wasted on them!

I agree with most of this, however they properly had a discussion after the movies as well, and did not over discuss it before it showed it. I think RS would love sitting with audience who have not seen it as if they liked the LOG, I'm sure they will love the TOB, so it's good for RS.

I know - how did that guy get the gig, he asked the kind of dumb, predictable questions you'd expect from a schoolboy. And hardly anything about Theatre of Blood - which is the reason Reece Shearsmith agreed to turn up and speak! What a missed opportunity this interview was, to discuss one of the finest horror movies ever made - and the late great Vincent Price himself! VP was a legend in his lifetime and beyond, I would have loved to hear RS talk about him. It's interesting how often these events organised by prestigious groups like the BFI set up the star of a classic movie (or as in this case, a prestigious fan), to introduce and talk about it, and then because of poor hosting talk about everything but the movie everyone has come to see!
