Thanks for this great tutorial! Have you ever thought of recording your finer instruments as VST digital libraries? Digital sampled music is becoming a real "thing", with lots of free software to help people get into it, and several pipe organs have been recorded, making them available to people with the right computer set-up. There are only a few reed organ VSTs out there. One is of the Mason & Hamlin "Baby" organ. I have that organ in working condition and got the VST of it for my computer. It is very faithful to the original instrument sound -- down to the pedalling (optional choice on the interface) "breathing" that is characteristic of reed organs! The VSTs also can be made to have "expression" (i.e. swell) as well overall volume controls. Digital music works on the design principles of the organ, but you only need one keyboard. Instead of "stops" you can open "libraries". Each library has a unique sound (piano, organ, strings, etc.) and you can run as many libraries as your computer processor can handle. Sometimes the libraries are called "plug-ins". Generally people use these instruments with an interface program called a DAW - Digital Audio Workstation, though some have "stand alone" players as well. Did you ever want to hear a reed organ playing against a symphony orchestra? There have been compositions for Harmonium and Orchestra! With VSTs you can do that quite easily, as there are many symphony orchestras in VST format -- including the BBC symphony orchestra! The advantage of a digital VST recording is that it will never age, or break down, never go out of tune, and the "instrument" takes up no more space than a computer (many laptops run VSTs easily now due to high power processors) and a MIDI controller keyboard. Best of all, the historic sound is preserved forever because digital music is growing, and not going away. They used to be only for Studio Musicians, but now they are available to everybody who wants to tackle them.

Rodney are the key covers true ivory ? -- The age of the instrument might dictate the common use of ivory ?
