I have a sand dollar in my tank. The sand bed has never looked so clean. Pure white. No more algae or fish poop on my sand bed. 👍👍

I have a 16” green serpent star in my reef tank. I love it. He’s amazing. I keep him fed. He has never attacked anything in my tank.

For sand sifters, I have just a 20 gallon tank with a shallow sandbed - I wanted a sand sifting starfish but there would not have been enough room/food for one long term, so instead I have a fighting conch. These things are VERY active, always out and about and they do a great job! I highly recommend them to nano keepers :)

Those Blue Linckia Star Fish look cool. As far as serpent star fish go, I once had a small salt water tank with a mated pair of clowns. I woke up one morning to see the sea serpent star eating one of them. They will attack sleeping fish.

People keep saying "sand sifting stars will slowly die in a small tank" I have had one for over two years in my 29 gallon and still is fat and happy. Stars generally die from poor or inconsistent water perimeters rather than food but we all know no one has those problems ;)

My serpent starfish would constantly eat/kill any sea hair I would place in my tank. Once the first one died I assumed it was just luck of the draw, but when I bought a second one I noticed that the serpent star became very active as if I placed food in the tank. Shortly after he was on top of him and the hair was not strong enough to get away from him. With that said I have never had this issue before and I have had the two species in the tank before. Just something you may want to consider when introducing the two species in the same thank.

Hi Thein. Thank you for all the videos, all the hard work and time you guys invest into the hobby for the rest of us. It's is great to see someone discussing scientifically accurate data. Would you consider making a video on the propagation starfish? Can one even propagate starfish for profits or interest? Thank you. Rigel

I have seen the green brittle starfish eat a fish, but the fish was in a pair and one of the two had die days earlier. I feel that the fish might have stressed and got sick and the start fish eat him.

Gangsta Dresta Of course a children's cartoon should shape our thinking more than taxonomic nomenclature. You can base your world view on Nickelodeon, I'll base mine on science. Agree to disagree?

some starfish are hard to keep alive cause they don't have brains and it's very hard for them to acclimate to a new environment if yoiu want a star in your tank get a chocolate chip Star they're only 10 at Petco sonic it doesn't survive in your tank at least it wasn't an expensive addition I've had one that lived about 4 months then died
