As a fellow Coloradan who is just getting into reefing, thanks for providing lots of inspiration and motivation!

Jake, about 13:15 minutes in, you will see what looks like water dripping down from the right flex-tube. It's a small drip, but I definitely saw a drip. Check that out bud!

Jake, sup bud. Glad to see everyone doing well at the studio. Stay safe brother !

Gotta say, having that studio has to be great mental break considering the entire world is on hold right about now. I've been scrambling the past week as my 200G marineland DD started leaking... grrrr, so no big tank. But luckily I had one of those Rubbermade 300G troughs sitting in the back yard, so now I'm rocking the lagoon look now and for the long forseeable future.

I bet you could get really tricky and turn that built in ATO to a fuge with a little work. That would involve cutting into it though and it is rather pretty looking.

Please explain the soft tubing you used for the overflow into the sump, what fittings did you use, Awesome video

Cool. A display skimmate chamber. Probably 5 gallons in volume, so it can stay there on display for a couple months before emptying.

My cheato fuge is a life saver. It just grows like crazy to the point that I don’t have to do water changes for months. 300 gal tank so all that water does help.

Dumb question only because here in New Zealand we can get that style of flexible hose but not the adapter (I think).. So is there a name or a brand for those PVC adapters? If you have covered them in a video a link would be great.

I know this js an old video. I didn't know you could cut that flexible pipe and use regular pvc fittings on it? Really that works.

If the return pump runs a little warm it might not be a good idea to placw the seneye there as it may give weong temp reading

How quiet is the overflow on that tank? I just purchased the pro star 200 and wondering if I should convert it to a herbie. Thanks and keep up the great content Jake!
@mr.no38714 жыл бұрын
I don't like the xport bricks! I purchased some from BRS with microbacter 7 around the beginning of the year and it hasn't done any type of no3 removal. I think you should add some kind of macroalge reactor to keep the nitrates down

have the same skimmer running in my 120 too, i felt its a over kill, lets see what happens here, is a maxspect rsx 300 good enough for a sps dominant 4.5 foot reef, jake do u have any idea, anyone can share an opinion.

Wouldn't it be a bitch to clean the skim mate from the ATO chamber? In my opinion, I'd rather just use an external bucket to collect the skim mate. Just take the bucket and pour it out.

Six socks with matts on top to prolong the life down to two socks? Way nicer skimmer but seems like a skimmer swap was all that was needed.

Do you think that I'm going to be messing with the skimmate in the chamber? My plan is to NEVER touch it, Just wait until you see what I do with it!
