Halide/T5 system! That was the norm back in the 90's/ early 2000's! The power of the energy for a very healthy system!

If you ever decide to make an hour long video of your setup, I would definitely buy it. Amazing work. A true inspiration for all hobbyists.

That tank is balling out of control... So awesome. I would throw my television in the trash if I had that in my living room.

I've seen a lot of tanks over the years and this would have to be my Number 1 - it appeals to me in every way. And that flow could not be more perfect.

Thank you, sandpiper! It's highly automated (water changes etc.). Cleaning work and refill of the automatically dosed chemicals takes about two hours a week. Of course there are larger 'work'events from time to time if heavy pruning of coral is needed. Removing algae from the glass is 5 min. with cleaning-magnets. It helps a lot, that the back is accessible. I recently wrote something about how I run this tank on advancedaquarist'dot'com, select 'featured tanks' on their site if you like.

Thanks a lot, blackdeath! I can't say how long Slimer took to grow that big, I cut it back quite heavily. It doubles it's volume in about half a year.

Thank you 2handsofgod, no zeovit, just plain old Berlin method combined with Balling-light macro element addition. Selecting "featured Aquariums" on the advancedaquarist (link in vid-descr.) website would lead you to an article, I wrote, telling how I am running this reef.

@Twelvey12able , the blue evening color of the reef together with the orange/red of the open fireplace in the room, turned out to be a real tv-killer... I agree on that :-).

Most of the bigger colonies are living with me for about 6 years now, but I cut them back from time to time. I guess the long coral you're referring to, maybe is a Plexaura or Plexaurella species, maybe a Eunicea (Gorgonia) ?

This is an extraordinarily beautiful tank. Congratulations! How do you maintain something so big? Things like trimming coral, cleaning soft algae, and removing coralline algae from the glass must be a major undertaking. Or are you able to balance the tank chemistry such that cleaning is not needed?
