I love ❤ Watchung these episodes of yours.. you both so easy going and friendly. I learn something evrrytime and you take videos of things I love to see.. waves and wash.. Sun and fun. Oh and that food looked awesome made my mouth water. And you caught it right off your stern. Really wonder what that BIG fish was? Exciting one moment and calm the next. Thanks for being great people and sharing your advrntire and peace with us.

Guys, you HAVE to shed speed when you have above-average size fish on line. You are NOT going to be able winch it in unless you have 150 lb line in the water which would mean having tackle that would cost in the thousands. Turn into the wind, or drop your sail down, immediately and play the fish, wear him out and bring it in. Longer he is in the water with a tiny hook is all that is holding him on the line means either you are going to rip his lip off, or spring open or break the hook, or worst yet, turn your catch into a bait for a much larger fish, maybe even shark bait.

You did an excellent job making sushi. I personally don't eat it but I can see that you did an excellent job. I was a little worried when he was catching the fish you guys were underway and kind of rough and no life jacket and not hooked in but then I'm a worrier. Stay well and happy thank you for the video.

I usually watch on the TV so do not comment. Watched your channel for almost a year and enjoy it. Great content and well presented. Jumped on the PC so, hello from one hour north of Toronto. Keep safe. Keep on truckin. I love tuna sushi !

Yes you have to slow down if you want to bring in a big fish - what's 20 min. when it's the biggest fish you ever had on your line !

Sailing Zingaro buys grain in bulk storing them in repurposed fry oil five gallon jugs. They get a friend to store them in a freezer for three days which is supposed to kill anything weevil related. Now that he knows you have a sewing machine on board you'll be his friend for life or as long as you have that machine.

I always think boat rails are too low. Watching Travis bring in that fish y seeing how low that is. Yikes. What an amazing cook you are Steph.

That sushi and sashimi looked really good , a suggestion , which is one of my favourites is to coat tuna with sesame seeds , then sear the surface and then slice , serve with ponzu sauce 😃🍻🥂

I have found, if I dump the sails, I usually get the fish. Especially if I am loosing line. Or at least I know what broke my line. Lol

Do not toss the Bonita they are quite delicious. Filet them exactly like the tuna and remove the dark blood line down the center of the filet. Lighter in color but just as tasty! Chuck

Hello from Vancouver ! We are nubes to sailing this year and just want to say we want to challenge you to a race with our MacGregor M ha! Ha! Travis, I think you might have me on a bicycle as my days were over long ago but we are going to give sailing a go around here on lake Oakanagan and the gulf islands this summer like boat camping then head south for some fun in the sun. Our dream is to sail in Japan then to Hawaii to Mexico and Caribbean with a 35 to 45 foot mono hull in two or three years. We were married in Kona 6 years ago which was fun for both families to meet in the middle of the biggest ocean as my wife is from Japan. My parents honeymooned in Oahu in 1953 from the middle of Saskatchewan and grandma thought they were going to fly off of the edge of the earth or disappear like Amelia Earhart. We visited the hotel they stayed in called The Outrigger. Our wedding was a justice of the peace, a cake from Costco, and a luau show for the our guests. If you get to Kona go with Jacks diving to night dive with the manta rays it’s a bucket lister for sure. Mr. Travis, any girl that can make donuts with sprinkles is a quality catch just saying no pressure but one day if you are snorkelling and find a diamond ring it’s a sign. For some reason I decided to buy a sailboat this winter to have some fun boat camping this summer then started watching KZbin videos on sailing and there you were. I think you are naturals at tubing , maybe you can call it We Tubing because you guys make a great team and are representing the great white north with style and class. My friends and I have a saying that earth is our giant spaceship and we are the crew and when we are travelling and someone asks us where we are from we say Earth but maybe it should be called Ocean. You are very brave and lucky to be able to enjoy your lives together on this journey and thanks for sharing it with us. The crazy part of this of this dream for us is to commit to selling all of our stuff, my big boy toys and never regret the decision. I am learning by living vicariously with your documentary and how to live life to its fullest by never missing a sunset or an opportunity to help someone. I hope we can meet some day for a laugh and a race in the Pacific Ocean ! My nickname is Tailwinder. So to both of you ,,,,good luck, good health and good fortune and all the best in your life journey eh. Maholo

Kind of funny when you think of the very early days and how afraid you were to sail that first 500 nm. And now almost 2 years later you think nothing of sailing 80 nm. 80 nm this way to St Marteen or 80 nm that way to St Croix. Let’s go.

Unfortunately we had winds directly on our 6 during that passage with large, confused, following waves, so we corkscrewed all 80 miles. Our fishing reward: One darn Barracuda

If you have never tried it and are just going off the general all bonito/bonita is gross which most people will immediately say without ever having tried it raw, the next time you catch a Little Tuny/False Albacore which is different than Atlantic Bonito, the falsies are great raw. They definitely aren't yellowfin, but I have done blind tastings with friends and family and most have a hard time telling the difference between little tunies and blue fin, and they are virtually identical to skipjack tuna provided they are all treated correctly and you get them onboard as quickly, immediately bleed them and get them on ice as quickly as possible. I normally fillet them, make sure I completely cut out their blood line meat, then Ice them right on the boat. They are members or the mackerel family and taste better than Spanish and Cero Mackerel in my opinion. They just have a bad wrap because if left to fight for long periods, and not bled right away, like is true in all tuna species, they have lactic acid that builds up in the meat and taints it. And just like most other Tuna,. It is extremely delicate and if you cook it all the way through it's offensive to most palates. But if you have never tried it, give it a shot. If you are afraid of eating it straight raw, do what I do. I bring it home freeze it in my chest freezer for 24-48 hours first to kill any potential parasites before defrosting and using it. It is delicious just dipping it in some soy sauce and wasabi, or throwing it in some poke, ceviche, Mexican cocktail, or making sushi & sashimi.

Did you save up a ton of money somehow, good professional jobs maybe, or can you afford all this by your videos? I can't figure out how people that are not trust fund babies do all this. You tube can't pay that well...no one ever answers these questions. I realize it is rude to ask of finances. It's just such a dream, lifelong really, to go away on a boat.

Dont get to frustrated, your not alone.. I have yet to figure out how to do anything but work 12 hours a day and trade my time for dollars. I'm a business owner and invest but not anywhere near this retirement sort of life style I see folk on YT and IG living. More power to them by all means and more positive energy their way! Maybe it will be my turn next time around you know, maybe I will get it (I hope so, lol)
