Brilliant video Mark, loved it! The bulk eraser is something I've never tried and I'd imagine, like yourself when you tried it, are now wondering why or how I never owned one of them! More than anything, I in awe of the detail and attention involved in the splicing kit. That screams of how much, at one bygone point, things weren't rushed and careful attention was valued. Thanks Lj. It was funny how that eraser just showed up at my local Value Village about 2 weeks after I purchased the RTR. I never knew that such a gismo existed up until then. It's cool that I inspired you to purchase one of these. It's O.K, you can keep my commission cheque (that's how we spell it here in the great white north). take care!!

Hearing the jazz at the beginning of the video is really nice Mark. I am looking forward to seeing this post. I am settling back and ready to take some notes. Although I do not have a Reel-2-Reel, I surely appreciate seeing any component videos by you. Plus, you never know when a Reel-To-Reel is going to pop up someday. Hi there. Phase Linear was a brand name founded by Bob Carver who later started Carver Electronics. Phase Linear manufactured other components that matched the one that I own, i.e pre-amps, amps etc. I haven't tried it with any vinyl yet but the results should be just as good. I would need auto reverse, especially listening to Monk & Rollins..lol! How is the fidelity of the RTR tape vs vinyl or iTunes

I used to use those splicers when I worked with microfiche machines. Those are perfect size tapes you are using for splicing purposes. I do have one of those demagnetizes for my cassette deck. Amazing example on how to use it. How does it get the dust off through the plastic casing? While using an EQ you can fade out the tape hiss but you cut out the high end at the same time. The Phase Linear does the same without killing the highs, correct? A cool addition component Mark~ Rob (^‿◕) Boston
