Today is the 1st time I hear of Chico and I can't stop looking him up listening to his music, I been missing out lol , but I'm glad I came across this, I been so stressed and soon as I heard the EL CHICO album I felt relax and clam and told myself it's guna be alright ,

That really sucks. I loved his band with Charles Lloyd and Gabor Szabo in the 60's. This band is pure BS.

I agree, the stuff in the 60's was incredible. It sounded like "marketable jazz" but was also extremely unique and original. I'm not sure what is goin on here but I was a bit disappointed after clicking on what appears to be the only Chico Hamilton footage out there.

@@dougsours1 I saw his band with Charles Lloyd live in San Francisco at the Workshop about 1962. It was an excellent band with Charles doing most of the writing. We covered a couple of tunes with my jazz group from "Drum Fusion" and "Passin' Through". Very accessible engaging music, just outside enough to keep things interesting.
