George Clinton on LSD. Central Park in the 1970s. A Can of film. That was that was needed to make history.
Big ups to Doctorc380 for the original post.

This song is important, very important as this was when the tradition motown sound began to break into another genre. This music was for the children of the "motown era" parents. The whole funkadelic mixed with jimi hendrix style held hands. This is fantastic
@Ston247
@Ston247 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. But it was not popular at the time. We could not say the word "Funk" in public because it was considered vulgar. The record companies didn't take them seriously and the Motown musicians would dress-down to attend their underground shows. George Clinton reformed Parliament in '74 so he could sell records. Most of the black community still didn't know who Funkadelic was until One Nation (1978).

@@robotboy719 i K the whole story of the song is underclass struggles. When I first heard the song I fell slave to the beat and arrangement but when I heard the song over and over I learned it was about illicit acts in the ghetto which begged for forgiveness; particularly from the one transgressing. Psychedelic richness converted from tough and rough beginnings.

All I can say is Wow! Never knew this video existed. What an amazing time capsule. 1973 and the world had no idea what these guys were about to unleash on all of our collective eardrums for about the next decade. I was a teenager in the 70's and Parliament/Funkadelic was the absolute shiznit back in the day. It was Parliament/Funkadelic, EWF and then everybody else, which is saying a lot because anybody that lived through it knows that there were some absolute monster Funk bands around in the 70's. Thanks for posting!

We're doin' the cosmic slop" She was well known through the ghetto Tricks would come and then they'd go The neighbors would talk and call her Jezebel But always with a smile, she was sure to try to hide The fact from us that she was catching hell, hey! Hear my mother call I can hear my mother call Late at night I hear her call Oh lord, lord I hear her call She says, "Father, father it's for the kids Any and every thing I did Please, please don't judge me too strong Lord knows I meant no wrong Lord!
