He was the greatest man recorded besides Pedro Albizu Campos who was what he is like to Puerto Ricans. Them two by far are the greatest of the last century. It doesn't even come close. My 14 year old daughter came home from the library with his autobiography today. Its truly one of my proudest moments as a father. I find it a shame its not in the curriculum in her school. I even let her stay up an hour past bedtime so she could read. lol I have always loved her excitement for history, and differing perspectives. I have sensed her infinite curiosity that I have always had, and tried to foster it the best of my ability. Thank you for posting this interview/discussion. I am going through a lot of his older speeches and interviews while writing time-stamped notes, so I can rewatch them back with her and give perspective on whats being said, while also hearing her perspective, or what she thinks is being said. I am beyond excited. lol I hope anything who stumbles across this has a lovely, and positive day/night!

Alex Haley lied a lot in that so called autobiography. He hardly got to speak to Malcolm. It broke my heart to find out the truth. That's 1 of the few books I ever read on my own from front to back. @@kingrayog there is no agenda on my behalf. Unless you label truth as pushing an agenda. He stole roots from the guy who wrote "Africa" and he didn't link up with Malcolm to the extent of what he insinuated. Malcolm was not apart of the process and whole story of that autobiography. This is a masterclass in rhetoric. Watch how he refuses to let the white guys control the conversation. He understands exactly what they're doing and is relentless about refusing to walk into their traps, whether it's the thing about the name he was born with, or trying to stir up crap between Civil Rights organizations. He's not even slightly fazed; you can tell he was used to this. He knows it's coming, he sees it, and he absolutely refuses to allow it. He maintains civil language even when a lesser man would just get angry, not for any other reason than knows what it takes to win. This is what real power looks like.

While no doubt racism exists across social spectrums in America, between all groups, even White Against White (Irish) and Black Against Black (Africans) and Hispanics Against HIspanics (Mestizos), it's also a fact if you were to watch the other archival City Desk shows, this is just how people talked back then, after WW2, when Blacks were already normalilzed in the North. The guest would have been a doctor but would still have a panel of people to ask questions. Just in case you didn't know this, Malcolm noted in his autobiography that he wanted to help Martin Luther King. Malcolm and King were like the "good cop, bad cop" team. Although whites didn't like King either, they eventually gave in to his demands (in part) because listening to King's "nonviolence" was better than dealing with Malcolm and the Black Panthers' "violence."

One of the best things he did and he really grew as a person, after, as an individual with his own style created anew by his being inspired during his trip to Africa, and the renewed spirit he returned with changed him into a more tolerant, a more insightful and quite brilliant speaker and teacher, and as with JFK, his brother Robert, MLKJr and Malcolm, Fred Hampton, my heart barely withstood so much pain as their lives were cut short, and all on the same side of humanity, with so much good they would have gone on to do. It’s because all his points were valid and opposing arguments were invalid He sought for black nationalism for a good reason, he fought for desegregation for a reason, he fought for black rights for a reason. Any racial discriminatory offence towards black people was completely unjustified and therefore invalidating every argument against black rights. But this coupled with the fact that Malcolm was extremely eloquent, articulate, realistic and intelligent which heightened his arguments and made them significantly more compelling.

REALLY? YOU WANT HIS WORDS OF SEPARATION TO CONTINUE?
@Still-Learning
@Still-Learning 3 жыл бұрын
@@salamjihad3449 Hello Salam. Separation is already in place. Malcolm was speaking of self sufficiency, independence, and self defense. When a young adult leaves the home of their parents to begin their life, they step out seeking self sufficiency, independence, and the skills of self defense. Are the parents offended because the young adult wants to be autonomous? Isn't that nature? In the case of Africans in America, they are afraid to leave the house to become independent, even after the landlords have told them, out loud and egregiously via laws and violence, "we don't want you here so we're going to make it as uncomfortable for you as possible until you leave." In this light, what problem(s) do you see with separation?

@@salamjihad3449 You should understand that I am Asian and I can speak for myself. Yes, we're getting blamed for a virus but what relevance is that to Malcolm X or anything that he advocated for? Malcolm X was a great man and did not advocate the separation of races with a motivation to screw over another. It was solely for black rights. Not only that, but he later came to view white people differently (more like humans). Why are you speaking about white people like they're being oppressed? Being condemned for being white is nowhere close to slavery or lynching or raping. Nowhere close to the oppression that black people have experienced.

He wouldn't answer his given last name as Little. He was being advasive. So they kept asking him in another way as he was avoiding the question. Malcolm sped up his speech when he was avoiding answering. People understand how his last name came to be, but why not say it? He wouldn't even say Shabazz the name he changed it to. Irish were slaves long before Africans were used by the English & Spanish. Irish & Italians were discriminated against horribly. The world had slaves from every culture since the beginning of time. Today it is human trafficking s#x slaves. We strive to be better every generation through love, education not hate nor stuck in the past. The civil war was the apology. Many whites died fighting for equality. The Irish immigration to USA in 1840s & 1850s saw the injustices in the South and helped stir the change to end slavery as they were once slaves and treated as 2nd class citizens by the English. I live among diversity and we all live in harmony. What is on the news 24/7 is only 2% of population to make it look like it is the majority. It is called indoctrination. People need to turn off 24/7 news and see the beauty of people. I tend to believe Malcolm was used and owned by C!@. His mother was Canadian half white/black and a Rothschild or Rockefeller. Follow his lineage. BO most likely his son & C!@ raised.

2020....Dear Malcolm X. No man has ever come close to your dedication and understanding of our black culture. U gave our black men formidable ground to stand on and our black women to understand the respect they need and deserve. God bless you. Allahu Akbar
