When he was on drugs, he was an absolute nightmare to deal with, and as time wore on, his periods of sobriety grew less and less frequent. They got the name from a movie theatre across the road from their rehearsal room, 'Black Sabbath' was a movie made by the Hammer House of Horror company and it was playing at the time, they saw the name and it stuck, probably better than 'Earth' which was the bands earlier name.
