One of the hardest things about John Wick that no one ever talks about is that he just walks in the open, no disguises, no trying to hide. He welcomes all of the smoke. Also, this franchise will never end for me until Hugo Weaving comes out at the end as the true head of the High Table and saying, "Mr. Wick, welcome back, we missed you."

That Dragon's Breath scene where you are looking down on the fighting like a video game was probably my favorite scene of the whole franchise. Could not stop grinning watching that.

FYI, the female DJ whose lips were all that showed, and was giving the blow bys while playing songs matching the action, was the same part done in a movie "The Warriors" 1979. It was about a teen gang falsely accused of shooting the leader of a big gang, and fighting their way through multiple gangs back to their territory. She even used the word 'boppers' .

No quarter=No mercy Comes from an old war term. If you were captured and there was bad blood for whatever reason, your captors wouldn't quarter you (give you a place to stay). They'd leave you out in the elements to bake/freeze/get eaten by wildlife etc.

Maybe he did it on purpose to get away from that guy. If he stands up from rolling, the big guy goes after him and kicks him down again. It was more like an escape plan... too bad he goal was the top of the stairs. But he was already in a crap condition, tired as hell. This is my head canon at least.

Maybe an instinctual self-preservation thing? Tuck in the arms and legs as much as possible to minimize limb damage. Sure he rolls further, but there's less chance of a serious arm or leg injury which would have been almost immediately fatal considering the company.

A week before the opening of this movie the guy playing the concierge at New York City's swanky assassin hotel (Lance Reddick) was found dead. He was initially thought to have died from natural causes, his recently released death certificate lists ischemic heart disease and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease as causes of death. R.I.P Lance Reddick. Such a great actor. By the way. "The big guy" is Scott Adkins. He was in a fatsuit. Check him out in the Undisputed franchise. A hell of a fighter.

Nostalgic fact; John Wick 4 pays homage to the 1979 gang movie The Warriors. The scene of the lady on the mic speaking to John as " Nowhere to Run To' plays in the background, draws directly from the late Lynn Thigpen speaking to the Warriors as this songs plays on the radio. Down to showing only her lips and teeth as she speaks 😊 Love it

WHY he can’t be dead? 1. Not a fatal wound with the left side shot. 2. Winston pauses after “take me home” but he has no home.. 3. There has been talk of a JW5… 4. Both John and his friend are too good of a shots to miss that close. Those were strategic shots I believe.

It never fails to amuse me how every low level thug, henchman or assassin thinks they will be the one to take out John Wick for the bounty. You just watched him kill like 100 guys. You might want to sit this one out.

No one talks about how john only went to osaka to set up the plot for 5th movie. He was 'safe' training who knows where with King, suddenly goes to Osaka for no reason and doesn't even do anything there but be attacked because he went there. Voila, revenge plot for 5th movie shoehorned in. On to the real movie content, him meeting with Winston, going to his family, etc etc.

As much as I wanted the John Wick franchise to continue, I'm fully satisfied with these four movies, and Winston's words in JW3 came to fruition when he asked John "who he wanted to die as?" and indeed he died as a man who was loved and as a loving husband

The beautiful cinematography of the Sahara Desert scene, the over head down into the room camera work, the number of times John fell down those stairs and kept getting up, it was all so good! The term "No Quarter" is another way of saying "No Mercy", in this movies case it means "do that death, you can't back out of killing your opponent"

1. You guys missed the end credit scene! 2. When John asks Winston to take him home, he means take his body back to the U.S. He knows he has been morally wounded and is dying. He dies on the steps of Sacre Coeur, how poetic. 🥲 My two favorite churches in France are Sacre Coeur and Cathédral Notre-Dame. Sacre Coeur looks beautiful on this film and I'm amazed that they got permission to shoot on its holy ground. 😱 I miss traveling to Europe. The pandemic took all the joy out of traveling abroad. 3. Lastly, TWO actors in this film died after its release, Lance Reddick and Ray Stevenson 🥲 (God, he was in so many shows and films, I loved him in HBO's Rome - highly recommend this show if you have not seen it). 😉

Okay guys. I for one am not convinced that John is dead. Didn't appear to be a life threatening wound. But the grave will stop people from seeking him out any more. There are 2 spin-offs being talked about, and still the possibility of a wick 5 is not out of the question. The 2 spin-offs are tentatively called The Continental - which takes place in the 1970s and tells the story of Winston and how he came to rise to his position. The other is called the Ballerina telling of a ballerina/assassin whom appeared briefly in the Wick franchise. Another rumor is that when we see Winston put his hand on Johns headstone and say goodbye, the tattoo on his hand or wrist is the crest of John's "family" fueling speculation that Winston was John's father.

24:35 This part for Asia. I think the reason he did that was to "shoot" him but not really kill him. In the other scene from the last movie, he played it off like "Oh? He disappeared? I did shoot him. Oh well" lol. So i do think he is on Wicks side. It is high stakes for all of them after all. It is sad he died but i think surprisingly there is another movie speculation. So who knows if Wick is truly dead or not. Maybe someone else might get revenge on him or something. If he is dead, it is fitting since he did do so much and even if he lived, he just wanted peace. Without his wife, it would be too much for him. Going out that way is also a way for him to be with his wife again. Calm the revenge and anger down and finally have his peace. I mean the series itself was him massacring everyone in sight. Grant, people probably wanted him to go out in a very cool way yet for me, he did. He shot who he needed and won his freedom back, goes back to sleep with his wife again. Overall, best movie franchise ever

I'm a simple guy when it comes to John Wick movies, just give me: John Wick saying his catchprase "yeah", innovative action sequences and John Wick beating guys to a pulp; and this movie delivered on all of those! The part at the Osaka Continental where he uses num-chuks reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite when Napoleon says, "num-chuk skills, bowhunting skills, I don't have any skills" lol.

Had to play catch up on your John Wick reactions before seeing this. I saw the first one but not the second and third. Saw those quickly before this. Each John Wick movie keeps getting better and better. John could have taken out Cain in the duel but he didn't. With John's death, Cain and his daughter was free of the High Table and they could live their lives. Tracker I believe is a bounty hunter which is why he kept waiting until the price was right on John's head. When John saved his dog instead of taking him out, that probably made Tracker rethink his life's choices in the game. He was an interesting minor character. There's a spin off movie, Ballerina that has John Wick in it, schedule for release next year. It will have Winston and Charon in it and stars Ana de Armis as I'm guessing as the main character in it. It looks like it deals with John's Belarusian "family" that we briefly saw in the third movie

Here in Germany the film is still in the cinemas, we won't get it on Blu-ray or for streaming until the end of October, so that's 5 months later than in the USA, quite a big difference.

The radio DJ giving commentary is taken from the movie The Warriors. The Warriors also had a “mouth only” female DJ providing play by play commentary as to the whereabouts of the Warriors gang to the other gangs trying to hunt them down. The Warriors is a good older movie (1979) that you should react to sometime.

In a normal duel, you are not required to kill the other person, the other person can 'ask for quarter' or 'mercy'. to fight with no quarter is to take no prisoners and allow no mercy.

During the duel, they had to make it look good, authentic, to ensure no one of authority can call foul. I’m sure the Harbinger suspects, but everything was above board. He could honestly go back and report all was done according to the rules.

They still left it open for him to return. The grave is just to fool potential revenge seekers. John's wounds were potentially not lethal. No major organs or arteries damaged. Both shooters had 2 bullet hits in the same places. He might at least have a cameo in one of the coming spin-offs. Finger's crossed.

The reason Mr. Nobody (Shamier Anderson) didn't immediately go after John Wick was because he felt the bounty was too low initially. He was waiting for it to rise and that's why he kept trying to negotiate with the Marquis for a higher bounty before going on the offensive. He was in it for the payday until John saved his dog which clearly meant a lot, making him abandon his pursuit and help him in the end.

In the end, when the manager of the New York Continental says "Farewell my son" ...if you combine that with the fact that the same manager "deemed it to be" that John live for 1 hour, essentially giving him a chance to live and the fact that it was said that John's family sits at the high table ( clearly certain bloodlines are in charge and play certain roles).....so .....was the manager actually John Wicks dad!!????

Remember... John Wick loves Dogs... which is why he saved Mr Nobody's Dog 😂 (I had to come back... ) The shootout with that Fire-Shotgun and Above Camera angle reminds me of Video-Games... and I think that's what the filmmakers were trying to do... like a Salute to them Shoot 'em Ups. I'm hoping he ain't really dead... and maybe he might come back for one more special John Wick movie when the time is right, lol... ☮

John had been ready to die since 1. He got his revenge, he had no family left, he only chose to live at the end of 1 because of his wife's voice on video. He chose another dog to love like Helen wanted, and effectively got out a second time. Here, he had no life left to live, but he wasn't going out easy. Like Santino's sister in Chapter 2, he goes out by his own terms, the way Baba Yaga would. And he never stopped fighting to just be John, not John Wick, so his escape of the table at the end was the last thing he needed to do. Now he can rest. Or so he and Winston want the High Table to believe. _The Baba Yaga..._
