@sandpiperr Жыл бұрын
@thegaytay4327 No offense, but you must be tone deaf if you think that Pierce Brosnan sounded good and Meryl Streep didn't! I'm not even trying to be mean to Pierce. I'm sure he tried his best and it was really hard for him. I get it...I don't have a good singing voice either. Objectively, his singing was not very good and even he knows it! He acknowledged it in an interview, but said that he didn't care because in Mamma Mia it was supposed to be campy, and a karakoe-like, and that what he's happiest about is that he got to sing with Meryl Streep (who, btw, was actually on key).
@personette7617 Жыл бұрын
@thegaytay While I don't agree with you on Meryl Streep sounding bad, I do agree about brosnan not being the worst singer alive (He's not particularly good either but eh) cause he sang a little bit in Evelyn, 2001 and he sounded ok, even somewhat good. I don't know what happened between them lol
@jcm5863 Жыл бұрын
@@personette7617 I think the reason his singing was better in Evelyn is because it was folk songs, so they're designed to be relatively easy for anyone to sing, and also were probably songs he already knew quite well.

A few of the lyrics were changed just slightly to work with the plot, but it was very minimal. For example, in the song Mamma Mia, the original line is, "I've been cheated by you since I don't know when" but in the musical it was changed to, "I was cheated by you and I think you know when"

My personal headcanon is that the reason why Bill is so confused when Sophie asks him to give her away is because he’s not really familiar with the concept. In Sweden, the couple walks down the aisle together, so he reacts the same way I’d imagine my father reacting if I asked him to walk me down the aisle
@luiscalzoncit2820 Жыл бұрын
I think it was confirmed somwhere that Bill is indeed Sophie's biological father but I like that at the end it wasn't important for Sophie as she understood Donna was the only parent she ever needed and she gained three excellent father figures in her life.

Benny & Bjorn, two of the members of ABBA were involved in the creation of the stage musical. It's probably why the songs seem to fit so well. They've created other musicals as well.
