This is one of my favorites of season 3. Roy's story at the press conference, Will always being in the boot room, Jamie being flattered the team thought he was gay and not offended, Nate starting to get a glimpse of the real Rupert, Rebecca being Rebecca to Roy, Higgins' bad joke about the fan being his dad, but especially the ending with Colin and Isaac, that was really sweet, I loved that whole last sequence. Especially the phrasing and concern in regards to "What is it about me that made you think you couldn't tell me?"

All classic moments for sure -- thanks for the list. I especially am tickled by Colin & Isaac's unexpected agreement that Bumbercatch is the hottest guy on the team.

The not caring vs caring is what really spoke to me. So many people say they don’t care but offer no support. I think there is some connection between not caring and being judge mental. And being curious is connected to caring/support.

@@DelGuy03 I don't even know where that agreement came from. Maybe they meant just pure body fitness. But he's not handsome at all. Sam Obisanya is definitely the hottest overall. Face and body. Maybe followed by Dani Rojas.

"Only a big dog can talk to a big dog" That was about Roy to Isaac. But it became Rebecca to Roy. And if you remember, Roy was the one that gave Rebecca relationship advice in S2 E1. Big dogs.

What an incredible episode for Colin! Roy grew because of the kick Rebecca gave him.

Same way Rebecca grew after Roy's speech on S1 (when she was dating that nice but "just fine" man).

Now that Colin explained how he handles the shower room, it explains why in S1 he didn’t see Roy showering and got blasted to the ground after Ted and Beard fixed the shower pressure.

Rupert inviting Nate to the "guys night" is a typical trait of an abusive person. He's trying to isolate Nate so he's more dependent on himself. The point where Nate stands up for himself and Jade is where Rupert loses interest in him.

@FriedlichChiller you're right. i like that Nate also stood up for himself against the supermodel. his favorite restaurant was more important than pleasing his date. he didn't care enough to beg or to obey her. Nate is learning to not care what other people think.

Because this is Ted Lasso, I was fairly certain Isaac's issue was Colin hiding truth from him, and I was so glad I was right. And Roy at the press conference is one of my favorite scenes of the show.

While Beard's voice does go to odd places sometimes, in the Amsterdam episode while he was singing on the bus he was actually doing a David Bowie impression

It's a reference to the famous play and movie(s) "La Cage aux Folles". Excellent original, and a funny, heartfelt remake starring Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

6, 7, 8, 9... told you these are all amazing episodes (10, 11, and 12 too). In this one that AMAZING scene with Roy at the press conference is one of the best of the whole series. It's up there alongside Rebecca's "I'm A B@tch" confession in Season 1. It's the full reveal of Roy's growth, and the kind of man he really is. And the scene in Rebecca's office with Roy and her is amazing too. It's literally the bookend scene for the Season 2 scene where he gives HER advice. Note in the press conference it's REBECCA'S reaction that's focused on, not Keeley's. That's definitely intentional, even if the full reason why isn't obvious here. Isaac's motivation here is one of the more obvious reveals of the series... but only because by this point in the series we expect these characters to do the right thing rather than wrong thing. On any other show we certainly wouldn't have had that expectation. Some fantastic comedy in this episode too, a bit with Roy, a bit with Rebecca, a hilarious thing with Beard... Jade seeing through Rupert pretty much instantly tells us a ton about her.

Great reaction to a great episode! As for the title: It's a take-off on the title "La Cage aux Folles" (pronounced roughly "la kazh aw fawl"), which was a French movie and then an American musical, and then was adapted as the American movie The Birdcage, which you may know. It's a comedy (with serious intentions) about a young man with two gay dads (who run a club with that same name), who's embarrassed to have his fiancée's family meet his dads and asks them to pretend to be straight for the weekend -- and in the course of the story learns better. So it has obvious relevance to this episode. The music at the beginning and end of the episode comes from the recording of the stage musical.

I kinda think this almost boys' night is the thing to make Nate quit. I think he knows now completely who Rupert is and doesn't want him as a part of his life. Well, that's the hope anyway.

While we know they've watched ahead, it's still really crappy that you're spoiling a future plot point. You should edit.

@@susannariera My issue that there are two people who are genuinely enjoyable to watch here. Bryce is the most intelligent of the group and has brilliant insights. Rob is the most emotionally intelligent and gives great commentary. And then there's one guy who sits there, slack-jawed, bouncing around every 10 seconds. When he talks he always shows his upper teeth. He ships everyone he sees. Then there's moments like right off the bat in this video at 0:18. What grown man acts like that? It's like putting a 4-year-old in the room with adults.

@@OriginalElysian Come on. No need for the personal attacks. Most everyone has a friend like Zuff. He's doing no harm and not incendiary or insulting. He can be fidgety, but so what? He says silly things from time to time which are funny. I don't always agree with what he says and that's ok. Leave the dude alone.

The episode title comes from the French/Italian film "La Cage aux Folles", or "Birds of a Feather", which later became a Broadway musical. It's a story about two gay men who are a couple and run a drag nightclub. There was a remake with Robin Williams later called "The Birdcage". Some of the music in this episode is from the musical.

What Rupert is doing is a very common thing among narcissists, when they think they control you or that they are the most important to you they are threatened by any outside influence you might have ESPECIALLY a romantic relationship because that’s where people tend to build confidence. My dad is basically Rupert just a middle class version.
