Mr Rees_Mogg "Where does our sovereignty come from ? Sovereignty comes from the people to Parliament, it does not come to Parliament out of a void. We hold it in trust for the people and they gave us an instruction. If Parliament tries to challenge the people, this stretches the elastic of our constitution near to breaking point. We should recognise that the people are our masters and show us to be their lieges and servants, not to place ourselves in the position of their overlords." Well said.

@Dr 2 Actually Jacob Reese Mog is exactly right. You cannot withdraw confidence from the government on specifics but pretend to give confidence in the generality. This will give commands to the government and create a marrionnette government. If a governemnt loses confidence of the house at any point, a formal vote of no confidence should be held and an election ensues and not have any arbitary majority of MPs make their own laws. When the government, which was formed after the previous election, no longer holds a majority in confidence of the house, it means circumstances has changed, and the people should be asked again on who should be the new government.

@Tony King I don't think that is quite correct. My understanding is it is a Constitutional Monarchy with democratically elected parliamentary representation of the people and that the people are sovereign. The Queen reigns she does not rule and parliament governs by consent of the people. Though the Queen does have constitutional powers to sack the government and she can also call a general election, she has always remained politically neutral publicly and her role is to listen, advise and caution her prime minister in the weekly meeting. Knowledge of the constitution suffers by its not being codified in one single document and the fact that people are not taught about it in school. Too busy shoving Cultural Marxist Socialism down children's throats. I have learned a lot since the Brexit debacle, much of it from JRM and YT Daddy Dragon. And I was educated at a good high school as far back as the 1960s. This has been going on a long time. Even law degrees (apparently so I hear) do not cover the Constitution and how the country is really run.

Yes only a mad government would put these EU demands in law on the gamble the EU might give us a good trade deal where we do not have to pay EU tariffs and vat on goods from out side the EU. All tariffs and vat should remain in the UK for the good of all our peoples, not throwing it into a bottom less pit called the EU where we will never see it again. The EU trades under WTO terms with the out side world and trade flows if we leave under these same terms trade with the EU will continue even across our land border trade will not be stopped and it will mean nothing to the GFA.

They are trying to save you from yourself and elite-controlled media and education. Young people just know whatever the media tells they have not seen other times. The elites are investing billions of dollars into a globalist world project rejecting his own citizens and acquiring new ones. Everyone in that room knows this, but they just playing the game . The remain side wants to keep the migrant and cash to media flow until they have a majority. But as most of parliament, he is untouchable. Also, I bet there's not one MP in there, that believes for one second that they are responsible to the people. Its just a game to them, that they get very well paid to play.

The UK are shooting themselves in the foot by getting rid of the prospect of No deal. Ruining all chances for getting a good deal with the EU. It is just a case of people who don't want brexit, want to ignore the referendum result. I won that referendum, I want brexit now!

Mandy Milton so I assume you want to remain? Can I ask, when we lose the pound to the euro, when our military becomes part of a federalist army, will you still be happy then?? Because all of that could easily come to pass. Even our forner top ministers are coercing with the EU to help pass the bill to delay. I voted remain but I don't want this. I respect the result and all this does not mean progress

No matter what side of the argument you are I think we all have to agree that Jacob Reese Mogg's performance was unreal!!! For 40 straight minutes, with interruptions, questions, and booing. JRM delivered his arguments(which was very hard to justify) with such eloquence. Not once did he misspeak, stutter or even gasp!!!

Trumps Dantichrist, that´s the presently accepted view - by the Party, but what if you, as an MP, feel that the promise you made to your constituency is more important than Party loyalty - which is the more honest path? To back the Party which is getting it wrong, or back the people who you are meant to represent?
