Nice step...your new knee knocker and flesh ripper! I have my hitch hard-bolted into my receiver. Grade 9 with locking nylon Grade 9 nut. Not coming off. No play. I have been rear-ended and having a hitch saved my bumper and screwed the assnut that rammed into me. I envy those dudes with aftermarket full steel front/rear bumpers with winches and hooks.

+Chris DIYer I am pretty well aware of having to dodge that hitch with my shins. We shall see how long it takes to get used to dodging another couple inches of step. I pity the car that runs into the back of this truck. I have a serious tow rig, and a car is not going to fare well trying to go through it.

That's a nice step ,it hurts to much to use the ball. Last year I used a cargo hauler thing with a step under it when parked, 4x4s are up a bit high for us older guys in there 60s, getting old sucks. I have to build a new hauler that will let me use the stairs on my new rig. U really need them when U camp & are hydrating with adult beverages

+TheKilog69 Plus up in the PNW, it is usually raining. I know it would just be a matter of time before my foot slipped off that ball and I would take an inch of skin off the front of my leg.

That is cool that would be great for a cab over.. Unfortunately I have a tailgate.

+EZ Off Grid I was thinking that too. Getting into my camper was a real bear. I can't wait to put it back on the truck and see if this step helps.

Especially helpful with a 4X4

If you utilized the plastic adapter properly, you'd have a tighter fit and wouldn't have required longer screws. But ideally, a Reese Interlock ball would have negated the use of the adapter altogether.

At 2:12 it wiggled a little to much.

The nuts recess into the bottom piece, your factory bolts would have worked. Your bolts introduce a slippage chance. Sucks that I have to remove the ball to install it.

What size bolts did you use?

I don’t remember. This was made a few years ago.

+PotLickerHound I know. On a video this short I should have thrown in a little something at the end. I could have included bits of me cursing at lost fasteners in the gravel, but I didn't think that had much entertainment value.

Take off the plastic riser so it fits perfectly. I didn't use it and fits perfectly
