The solution to keeping the hitch from moving around in your tow bar. It simply fixes the hitch solidly in the reciever. Very simple and just works.

Great gadget but the original rattle bolt is not meant be used with a van on the back. It's only for when the van is unhooked and it stops the rattle.

Correct. Ive seen one guy who tightened the anti rattle bolt and only to discoverit bolt snapped of and was a bugger of thing to remove the hitch later on

I have a Ford Everest and according to the owners manual, and I quote "Tow coupling anti-rattle pinch bolt(where fitted) should be removed from tow bar when towing. When not towing, the anti-rattle pinch bolt should be replaced, and lock nut tightened.Tightening torque must not exceed 47 Nm".

Spot on if you touted the anti ratttle bolt whilst towing, event you will have a nice hole in your toe tongue, the anti rattle bolt is for use when not towing nut you have your tongue in.

Cheers mate. Went down to Repco today and bought this on special, for $27. Thanks for the great advice, looking forward to testing it out on some ruff stuff with the camper.

Thank you so much! Instructions on back if packet were useless!

And realised I cannot use anyway because the Hayman Reese towbar I bought is solid so cannot put block inside. What a joke!

Great advice. I too have a new BT50 and my tow bar hitch rattles. I'll give one of these a try. Thanks.

We have fitted this with our bike rack. However it keeps coming loose even when just loading the rack. Any suggestions?

The anti rattle bolt is not meant to be used when towing anyway.

I have read this in some forums a while ago but Hayman Reese supply these hitch pins with their 3.5t tow bars. There is nothing on the Hayman Reese website about these pins not being suitable for towing.

All Around Oz Oh I’d certainly use your new one. I was more referring to the factory unit. The Hayman Reese pin looks excellent.

You will damage the threads on the bolt at best and at worst break the weld away for the captive nut if you do this! Isuzu advise this with all their bars!

Doesn’t work with solid hitches. So if you do man shit. Forget it

Picked mine up today from Repco Auto and fitted it in their carpark while I had the work trailer on, which is an 8X5 dual axle box trailer with canopy fitted and weighs 1985 kg loaded. Its so quiet, I took the long way home enjoying the ride with out the rear end tapping. Just do it and go buy one. And thanks for the vid.

Only problem is it isn’t long enough for mine if they made it longer it would be better

I have just fitted a Hayman and the anti rattle bolt is at an angle on the top right corner. Is that suitable enough?

Thanks for the video, it really helped. Excellent demonstration champ. Cheers mate.

Wait, why is the tow all upside down?
@bradbaston71863 жыл бұрын
I don't think it really matters up or down. I used to tow a camper trailer like this and was actually higher so wouldn't have to raise the trailer up alot higher

I have a tow ball with cane with no cap to install because I have a stock standard tow. I have purchased a new 3500kg kit from Repco which comes with the silent hitch. Check your towball before purchasing this product
