Thanks for the tips..... I love your channel!!! The details and instructions are very easy to follow (with no fear of error) :-) I just took a crocheted crop sweater that would normally be too small for me and turned it into a cute shrug for my summer stuff since I hate showing my floppy arms.

It can be a daunting process to recycle old clothes, so I’m starting with the most easiest of projects - removing the sleeves from a blazer/jacket/coat. The techniques I’m using are a couple of hand sewing methods so that i do not distort the armhole shaping and I get a clean and professional look to the garment. It is well worth the time and effort and also a great opportunity to practice your hand sewing skills. Give it a try!

My linen jacket doesn't have a definable line around the sleeves. Where should I cut? Can it be done?

Yes! When you have removed the sleeves, use bias binding (this video will help kzbin.info/www/bejne/fandZ6uhrqeehZI ) the neaten the raw edges. Hand sew and machine into place.
