Refilled Cartridges - Installing in a Canon PFI-300 and getting the printer to accept them.

Hello, I am also thinking of buying a Canon Pro-300 printer. When the cartridges on the printer run out, can we refill the ink and continue printing?

That’s effectively the idea. You refill the cartridges and use the strategies in this and the related Pro300 videos to keep printing. Check the Playlist section for the other videos.

Yes.. but the cartridge needs to have the right PFI-300 chip.

What is the print quality on these inks? Recently I had a very unpleasant experience with the substitute cardridges.All prints on glossy paper were dul (matt)l I was forced to return these cartridges back to the store.

They're pretty solid and colours are good but it depends on the papers being used as to whether they punch to the same level as Canon OEM without custom profiling. Unfortunately we don't have compatible pre-filled cartridges of our inks that you could use as samples but we've not had any returns or complaints regarding these inks (if that's useful as a metric).

@@octoinkjet I turned off the Black ink level monitoring. (by mistake) How do I turn it back on?

The ink monitoring is cartridge/chip specific so if you get a new OEM cartridge it will be available again on that channel.

Physically, yes. The chips or rather the chips programming are the different bit.

@octoinkjet I am in canada though so do you know of any suggestions in the USA or Canada? My printer has just been sitting there because I looked at the prices in canada is 250 cad for a new pack.

We do ship to Canada (and have a pre-paid tax checkout option too) but you could look at InkOwl . I believe they offer inks for the Pro-300 but not the flush clips or our SquEasyFill system.

i have support code 1698, not 1699. How do I bypass that? pressing STOP does not work for that code. Do i need to buy original tanks or can I just refill the original and plug them back in?@@octoinkjet

You would definitely need to make sure you have refilled your cartridge before attempting to disable ink monitoring.
