What a great tutorial! Thank you very much for that : ))) Your system is so efficient and I wish mine were as user-friendly as yours, but I guess I will have to apply the same concepts. Thanks again!!!

Hello Sir nice & helpful video. I was wondering if we need to replace old fluid with new to the entire circuit (from collectors to the hot water tank in basement), from where should we drain it? If we do it from the collectors side on top of the roof, much old fluid will remain into the pipes below roof level... THX

I reuse all my fluids in my system,, I filter it with a coffee filter if it is full of rust/stuff.

When you fill the water by this way from the top of the system and collectors , how you can ensure there will no air insides the pipes loop?

It´s not easy,, but it has worked for years.

The anti-freeze you use should be food-grade (Propylene Glycol) in case there are leaks into your hot water. Don't use auto anti-freeze.

Don't drink from the hot water tap is the easy answer. Car anti freeze is superior and only €15 5 liters.
@chriskennedy75348 ай бұрын
@romakayak No one is drinking it, but brushing teeth, showering, washing dishes, even laundry, will lead to exposure to a toxic liquid, if it leaks inside heat exchanger. Og poster was correct. It's Blue which is correct colour for HW service, auto coolant is usually green or red, but he did state it was auto, and didn't answer in his reply, so who knows.

Hi Sir , I am the first time using solar water heater , please let me know it must to add the air to the red tank , when I changed all the anti-freeze ?? thanks
@MyPlayHouse7 жыл бұрын
Hi JOHN HOI Thank You very much! There is no need to change to anti-freeze,, It is in there all year. But to top it off, I do remove pressure from the red tank. Thank you for watching! :-)
@johnhoi78437 жыл бұрын
Because our country is hot whole year , not snow , so we add the tap water instead the anti-freeze coolant , when I add the tap water the pressure meter will go to 2 ~ 3 Bar automatically . so is it OK for the heater work ? Thanks for your help Regards John
@MyPlayHouse7 жыл бұрын
Hi JOHN HOI I am no expert on this at all,, and I am probably going it wrong,, but it works for now. sounds like you are using the water pressure to pressurise the system. I am sure it is fine. I run mine a bit lower,,1-1½ Bar. Mine leeks if I goes higher :-/ Thank you for watching! :-)

Thanks for the video! Very useful! I have a similar system called Kingspan Solar. I will definitely try to fill up myself. One other question, I am getting an error message of night circulation and it might be a problem with the non return valve. Any idea where the non return valve might be? Many thanks!
