I agree, the price is great. But you have to understand that they are talking about an apartment in Queens not Manhattan. I will say its possible to find a room for rent in nyc outside of Manhattan for a reasonable price. I rented s room in 2015 for 550 a month in a big house with everything, included and know many friends that pay well under 1000 for rent. Generally apartments or rooms are cheaper the farther they are away from downtown Manhattan, and even cheaper if they are far from a subway stop. But convenience and location to downtown Manhattan is what cost you. So if you want to save money live away from Manhattan and subway stations. But if you want that true NYC, CITY experience then be ready to cough up some big cash.

I don't usually comment but what a great feature! Forest Hills can be a bit of a trek to the city if you're not on the express or the weekend trains are messed up, but they have a great deal for that amount of space. Also so nice seeing two supportive, creative, entreprenueral woman of color making it in the startup field. The chalkboard, notes, loft bed, branch rack. Love it! I wish them the best and I hope we can do a follow-up up on them a few years later!

Very chic apartment and just big enough for the both of you to have your own space and also together space. .but I have to admit that even though the biggest bedroom is really feminine and lovely I gotta admit that I like the smaller one better She used that space wisely Getting the loft bed was genius. .it gave her, her own little sitting room for relaxing without making the room feel cramped. .plus all her little eclectic decor. .nice!

I think the loft bed is a great concept, because it gives you so much room for "so many activities!!!" Reply back if you know where this quote is from! :-) All joking aside the loft bed is a great idea, but in a place with higher ceilings. I don’t think I have ever commented on one of these Sweet Digs vids though I have watched all of them. I had to comment on Kendra’s style. This women could be a very successful decorator! My friends aunt has an apartment in Forest Hills and we crashed there for the summer at least I was a bit iffy because of the distance to the city but omg it is a gorgeous neighborhood. Like it was actually amazing to come home after a hectic day in the city and it had this awesome piece also the apartments I saw there were gorgeous.

You girls are DARLING and seem so sweet and "unspoiled" (if that's the word) by The Big City and I'm 67 years old so my perspective is entirely different (although I still feel 20) but I can still relate because I moved out on my own when I was 19 and would have LOVED to have a cousin to share an apt with!! Also, I know you rent, but I was thinking that the frame around the mirror and the vanity in the bathroom would look GREAT with a coat of black paint, maybe chalk paint, and some polycrylic over it. Would they let you do that? It would definitely update the bathroom and look great with your shower curtain! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you both in your careers and otherwise!!
