Another tip, store your ship by calling ahead for a pad, then hovering over the one next to it. They store your ship in one minute flat for the low low convenience fee of 500 aUEC, and you get to be in the cockpit incase someone is lurking around and starts shooting.

My thoughts: If cash is needed sell raw ore. If not in rush for cash refine all using 'Dinyx Solventation' method. Try to get mixed loads, all of 1 type can be a bottleneck when trying to sell (could not sell a full load of Agricium at one time had to wait to sell all of it). I will only try to extract the percentages and up of the following: Bexalite 55%, Borase 70%, Taranite 70%, Laranite 80%, Agricium 90%

FYI for all you beginning miners out there. Borase is horrible horrible stuff and best avoided. It worsens the break up of the rock into messier chunks with lower purities whenever it is present in a rock. For example, even a 30% Quant rock with 1% Borase is likely to shatter into 6 rocks each with 10-40% Quant. Each of those rocks will probably crack into equally unfavorable chunks. Same rock with 0% Borase will probably crack into just 1 or 2 rocks with 80%+ Quant and 4 or 5 rocks with nothing worth bothering with. Sometimes you have no choice but to embrace the suck, but if you have the option of multiple rocks, some with Borase contamination and some without, go for the ones without. You're saving yourself a lot of heart(ball)ache.

anyone know how to get a completed work order to properly transfer? I have a cutlass black that is empty and my completed work load would fill about 50% of the cargo hold, but no matter what I have done it just doesn't transfer. It's been 3 days now and it's still doing the same thing.

A quick tip, you can vary this as needed, depending on your equipment for the Prospector, scan rock, if mass say 6043 and the resistance is .41. I use this formula mass times resistance equals 2478, or to simplify 60 x 41 = 2460 close enough. I use Helix laser with consumables (still experimenting) and my upper limit Is near 2700, above that and very hard or not able to fracture the rock. Generally the more massive the rock the harder it is to fracture, but has more stuff in it. And the higher the Resistance the harder to fracture, but has more valuable stuff in it.

It is my fist time mining with the IAA prospector today. Maybe it is worth selling the raw inert materials before you do refining. Not quite sure what happens to them during refining, but if they are lost this might be a way to get a bit of extra cash. Edit: Looks like you cannot sell single ores from your mining ship, only all at once.

@digthat I have an excel spreadsheet up on Reddit that works all this out for you and enables you to keep a tally of your stacked runs 😁 happy to share for all those that want it. Good guide, only bit I disagree with is “mine/refine everything” it’s better to mine as many 100% chunks of valuable materials as possible and abandon anything less valuable than Agricium. That way your cargo space isn’t taken up by low value materials on your sell runs
