Refinishing wooden chairs from a thrift store

I found these wooden chairs at a local thrift store. I like the rattan seating and the shape of the chair back. They just need a little basic refinishing and restoration. I sanded the finish with sandpaper, used "plastic wood" to fill cracks, sanded again, wiped, and then applied wood stain. I picked the "special walnut" color, which is a medium brown. Then, I sealed it with a spray that is for oil-based stain and for exterior use. It takes several days because each step needs to be dried thoroughly. As a hobbyist, I am happy with the result and feel more confident about my next restoration project.
