If your boat is like my Tiki30 inbuild, then that is the keel backbone and outboard are just hull stringers. I know you said that they are only temporary but it makes me cringe to see them just leaned against the hull and backbone. :) Looks like a nice solar setup. You could make a few shekels by having affiliates links for that type of stuff.

nice that the batteries don't need to sit on top of that joist/ stringer. Who knows if it has that type of strength? Also you will likely consider the weight problem of battery power since the idea of the catamaran is light weight per lineal foot of hull. the power density of battery power is very poor compared to even a small amount of diesel fuel. thank you for making these videos

It’s debatable, whether electric is ready, but it’s quickly improving. These batteries are not heavy, so I’ve no worry about where they sit for now. I’m not sure how’d I feel about it on a rough sea, mind you. 😅 In the end, I expect them to sit in a bench below the deck level, central and balanced. But, I’ve also done research to see if I could literally build a battery that would fill the bilge! If I’m both hulls and balanced, that would be an amazing solution. But the tech is questionable when diy built.

Surely you can wake the batteries up with the solar charge controller? I have lifepo4 batteries, and I think they are great, different brand, so maybe mine behave differently... I have hit the BMS but I didn't have any problems getting them back going again. I do have a lot of solar though, and NZ is a bit sunnier than Ireland!

Good question Dominic. I can say I’ve tried! But I will give it a go when everything is back in place and it happens again, as it inevitably will 🫣

those flush mount handles are no good! they just create a pool of water if installed horizontally! I tried to find purchase a handle like that, but couldn't find any that didn't have that problem! I had to invent my own (unfortunately not yet perfected!)
