If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

@@CoatsandGaiters The long black probe, two pins that power the motor. When you put the unit together that probe goes through the block and pushes into the motor connectors.

@@GTE465 Have you got a code reader as C2116 is for Low Motor Voltage I believe. Does look like it might be a bit low. I'd have expected 12v

I like to learn as much as I can about working on my own car, which these videos are great for. It seems you have gone to alot of extra effort making the content, over and above what it would of taken to fix the car without filming. This is much appreciated, thank you for the great content and information.

Stupid question, I'm guessing it's good practice to disconnect the battery before unplugging the module connector? Edit: just watched til the end and I can see you had the entire battery out.. But if I wanted to just look at the connector, I'm assuming disconnecting the battery would be a good move
@CoatsandGaiters Жыл бұрын
Normally its safer to disconnect though you may loose the radio code. On the later models there is a risk of wiping the electronic floor module when the battery disconnects which can be a nightmare as you have to send it away on ebay to have it reprogrammed for the lights/indicators/windows to work again. Seems to be a risk which ever way you go today.

May I ask....If you purchase a new ABS module, will it need special equipment to purge the air out of the unit?
@CoatsandGaiters2 ай бұрын
Quite possibly or drive around a car park slamming on the bakes to activate the valves. Apparently that can work as well.

Another great video mate. I can't wait to see if it works!

If it doesn't work I'm happy to send you some of the integrated circuits I bought to try that fix. I have ten, cost me $8-9 I think! Can send you five free any time.

@@iebah1 Thats very kind of you iebah1. I will have to look into what this chip does that your talking about. I presume it's not the 8 pin EEPROM with the car details stored in as that has to be reprogrammed with a top model vehicle diagnostic computer which I don't have sadly as they are over £500 from what I can see.

@@CoatsandGaiters No, it's an IC with 9369.1D written on it. It has 14 pins. One of the BMW guys at Bimmerfest, called sudnut, put me onto it. I'd be very happy to have you show me how to do it in exchange for the cheap little chips.

Hi, I’m having the same issue. 2002 Mini cooper. My abs pump is located on the other side. Now I can remove the module alone without removing the brake lines, but will the brake fluid leak do you think? If not I can easily remove the module without having to bleed the brake again.
@CoatsandGaiters Жыл бұрын
Hi you can remove the electronic module from the valve housing without it leaking.
@catfisher4202 жыл бұрын
Did your soldering repair work on the module?
@CoatsandGaiters2 жыл бұрын
Sadly not it's possible the issue was the hair like wires that go to the sensor inside the module. They are known to snap as they are so thin.
