@@dunktheball I think once they left the Olympic bubble, they weren’t permitted back in. Some athletes left the said bubble to explore and were sent back home.

@@WickedlyMe328 they weren't staying in the Olympic Village. I don't think they stayed there at all. They stayed in two different hotels there, left one and went right to the other one. They weren't staying with all the other athletes because of covid. I've never heard of an athlete being sent home because they went to explore.

That's not what happened. She only had 48 hours to be able to stay there after she was done and then she would've had to go home. Simone getting the twisties and withdrawing from all those events happened while she was still there. She was told to stay in case they needed her for vault finals, which they did obviously. That is how she still ended up being there and being able to compete in vault and winning the silver medal there.

Ellie If Simone had competed MYK wouldn’t have made finals. She got two per countried like everyone knew she would. The unprecedented Simone situation doesn’t absolve Tom and his missteps in choosing the team. Myk should have been on on the main team.

But the very hateful part of the gymternet didn't want MyKayla to go to Toyko at all, and considering she placed 11th in AA and has established herself as a top vaulter for years, that would have been pretty insane to leave her home. Hi Mykayla! There sure were a lot of ups and downs during this Olympics, but every one of you ladies ended on a good note! From you thinking your Olympic experience was over, to medaling on your best event 🥈 Simone competing in the beam final and nailing her routine and medaling. Jordan and Grace finishing strong in team finals. Jade redeeming herself on floor after a disappointing vault final. And Suni winning the all around. Everyone had their moment, and I just love how special this Olympics was for USA women’s gymnastics!

Thanks for explaining about the video. I saw it but didn't have time to watch; then I tried to find it again and I couldn't find it. I am glad that you were able to stay positive. Your family must have been very convincing and supportive. I have been upset that you were not put on the team. Even though you should have been scored higher on floor and beam in prelims, your scores still proved that USAG really did blow it. Then the two per country rule kept you out of the finals. Here you were, 4th overall in vault, and 10th overall in All-around, and you are "ruled" out of everything. Then Simone has a terrible situation and pulls out. You made the most of your last chance, and came away with a medal. I don't know how you could be more deserving. It's been a wild journey and I am thrilled that things finally broke your way.

It broke my heart when you thought your Olympic dream had ended. While the circumstances weren't ideal, I am glad you were able to get your moment to shine and get your medal. You really were spectacular! I do wish Simone had had a better experience, but things worked out for everyone in the end, just not how people expected.
