Simone's Bronze was so wonderful! I am so happy she was able to compete that one last time. I cried when you won your silver and cried when she was able to overcome her twisties. You both are great American champions!

All 6 are American treasures. All 6 medaled in one event or another. They faced down extraordinary circumstances, including (but not limited to) the 1-year postponement, no fans in the stands & Simone's case of the twisties. These 6 are as wonderful to me as the Magnificent 7 back in '96.

Feeling sore from training one event could be because your body isn't using all the muscles it uses in the usual way when training all 4 events. Feeling on edge comes from the uncertainty of not knowing whether you're going to be needed in the final or not, I suspect. So happy you did get the chance to show what you're capable of . Watching you win Silver in individual vault was my favorite moment of the 2020 Olympics. Such patience, perseverance and hard work you have shown. You've dealt with injury. You dealt with a bad case of COVID-19 which resulted in hospitalization. There was some question as to whether you were going to be ready. You made it and you were presented with an opportunity which you totally seized! You've shown alot of character and I am inspired! I am so proud and happy for you! You never gave up! This Silver medal is sweet and it's the culmination of everything you've been through!

I fully understand not wanting to film the entire time you're there and taking time to just be. I'm a film maker and I swear every vacation I have to remind myself that I need to just be in the moment and not seeing the world through the lense of a camera. My brother and I (brother's a filmmaker too) went to see the eclips and about 10 mintues before the eclipse he just left the camera and was like, I need to just experience this.
