📝 THE REFLECTION ACTIVITY: 1. Think about all of the videos that you watch and/or make, and write down all categories you can think of. 2. Draw columns across the page to note: - Videos you like making and watching - Videos you're open to making - Videos you like watching, though won't make yourself - Videos you don't like watching or making 3. Connecting with how you feel in your heart - NOT what other people think or which videos are popular - mark which videos you like and don't like. 4. Come up with your own affirmations to remind yourself of your values for your channel (or your watching habits). 📃 VIDEO CATEGORY IDEAS: - Deck parades - showing decks one by one - Mini collections or categories of decks (this may overlap with the previous category) - Deck first impressions - Deck reviews - Deck walkthroughs - Reading with a deck, ie talking about or showing how you practice - Round-ups or wrap-ups, such as monthly wrap-ups, seasonal wrap-ups - Videos with pals - Topic: Decluttering - Topic: Pet Peeves or Rants - Topic: Journaling - Topic: Personal Life Other ideas: doing activities with tarot decks, videos about specific cards, collective readings, etc.... and you might come up with different categories than these!

We all need to stop for a moment and appreciate your incredible makeup artistry!! Wow so good 🌈 I loved this reflection video, it is so clever and a healthy dose of introspection for tarot tube and anyone following along with these prompts. I might need to do my own spin and VR to this 🤔

"I don't have the same feelings about seasons or seasonal decks other people do and I also don't have decks that I only pull out for certain seasons" - I flew to the comments section here to say wholeheartedly YES. Though I did enjoy the process of making a monthly deck list video for the first time this month, I definitely got in my head about how my decks were not the ones I was seeing on others' channels. I hit year 3 next month too of tarot reading, so it's hard to say what the general rules are about seasons when my collection has grown drastically within that time period and I'm still noticing the patterns for myself. I've settled on I like making them for now because they give me room to process, but they do hit an area too where I worry I'll just contradict myself later on. 😂 Very interesting topic! I appreciate how analytical this approach is! It's been a little minute since I've filmed a front-facing video, so this might be the one. Anything that inspires reflection is compelling to me! Thanks for creating this!

I remember trying a couple of times to have "decks for the month," but I just never stick to that list! My brain just starts flitting to other decks that seem more interesting or relevant for the moment 😂 I can also fall into the trap of thinking, "I should have a dedicated 'autumn deck,' I should look at other people's 'autumn decks' and get one of those" - but truly, I don't have seasonal associations, nor any particular seasonal practices, so that sort of thing doesn't fit me! Plus in southern California, our trees and flowers look the same year-round... hah I have definitely contradicted myself (subtly) in many videos 😅 All of the decks I've done Tarot in Practice with, for example, have been rehomed. Many decks I've listed in videos, such as "cozy decks," have been rehomed. I'm kinda hesitant to make any more mini-collection videos because half those decks might be gone within a year! lol the ever-changing collection... Excited to see your VR if you make it, Kaity!

I love the videos like Tarot in Practice that are like vlogs of various ways people are working with a deck over a period of time. I loved Katy’s and I loved yours. This one falls into the category of I don’t think I’d ever make it but I do love to watch them for me 🥰. Also your eye shadow/ eyeliner is phenomenal 😍😍😍

Those Tarot in Practice videos are so satisfying! I may play with the format so I can still make videos like that (demos of using a deck), because the last one I made started to feel a bit formulaic for me 🤔

Love your makeup! This is such a thoughtful activity to try. I enjoy the tarot in practice videos too, I would love to see more folks making them, which is a sentiment I hear a lot of other people saying as well. I enjoy making them myself, though weirdly they are usually my least watched videos which can be disheartening, especially when you hear so many people saying they want them. Ah well, as least I had fun making them! Thank you for sharing this idea of yours. :) x

First off, I love your makeup. I hate makeup as 'performing for the male gaze' but thanks to people like you I am starting to come around to 'makeup as self-expression'; this is seriously impressive. 'What videos I want to make' is straightforward - none. What I want to watch is more complex. I like seeing what does and doesn't work for other people, so deck reviews, collection videos, antihauls, decluttering are all interesting to me. But mostly, I want to 'raise my vibrations'. That doesn’t always mean ‘feel better’, sometimes one comes away from a good video with righteous anger, or sadness, and sometimes it simply means I have learnt something or I feel I understand my fellow humans a little bit better. The algorithm, on the other hand, values ‘They betrayed you and now they have to PAY THE PRICE’ over ‘I’ll chat about my day’ so we have to deliberately choose kind videos over enraging ones. (I noticed you didn’t list pick-a-card/collective readings; to me those are a different segment of KZbin, separate from the deck-and-practice, aimed-at-fellow-readers ‘TarotTube’ though some people take part in both.)
@tangytarot15 күн бұрын
Experimenting with makeup has been a fun outlet! I'm also aware of "the male gaze" and this kind of colorful makeup is a way to remind myself that makeup is FOR ME first. I've been really inspired by two particular makeup youtubers this past couple of years, who put on much more colorful makeup than what I'm used to seeing: glamgio_nyc and themirrorbeauty. "Raise my vibrations" is a succinct summary! Yeeah I feel you on youtube pushing clickbait or ragebait videos over longer chattier videos. I really love tarottube for that reason - people's videos are all so chill and not overwhelming 😊 I didn't include pick-a-cards in my own reflections because I already knew I don't watch or make them anymore, but I did add them in in hindsight! I also feel like they're aimed to a different segment of youtube. Although, if someone I follow does put one out, I'm more interested because I already know them & their reading style!

Hallelujah! I make videos to learn how to journal and communicate with others. I am trying to find the best way to tell my ancestors' stories. It is not great to go into a project without the skills. I don't care if people watch my videos. I just want to get better at talking and expressing myself. I love this topic!!! Thank you SO much!

"I don't care if people watch my videos. I just want to get better at talking and expressing myself." Yess that was/is a big motivator for why I continue here too -- to practice articulating thoughts out loud! Especially since I work from home, so I don't have to talk aloud often 😂

@tangytarot LoL! It was sad when I realized that other people can't read my mind. 😂

@@carriegrice The "catch" of practicing talking on KZbin vs. practicing talking with people in-person is that I don't have real-time feedback from others on how I'm coming across! So oftentimes I end up giving much more context - or reiterating my points - more than I feel is necessary when reviewing in edit 😅 Oh well! I still prefer the comfort of practicing in my own room over practicing in public speaking contexts.

I'm starting my channel in January and my whole purpose is a channel for me to use some of my creativity and to just document my tarot journey so maybe I can reflect back on it in the future and learn something. The things you say hit home and I'm glad you do what makes you happy. Keep up the great work. And your awesome makeup is the cherry on top to a great video.

I really love this idea, thank you. Your video helped me comb through the channel binder I keep and create something organized and online. My channel is still pretty young, so I'm mostly open to making a variety of videos. You also helped me see that I like to watch "deck pairings," I'm not willing to make them. Most of my deck pairings are intuitive anyway. Thank you!
@tangytarot14 күн бұрын
Oh yeah, deck pairings is another topic! I omitted some topics I already knew I don't watch, and deck pairings is one of those topics. I know they're really appealing to some folks though! I do not make videos, although I have a couple of music & tarot shorts, made in a burst of energy. have always loved your make up and nail varnish colour choices, its always a mood. im here for it. you can always come on sans colours and that would also be fine, like your take on stuff. I really liked your meta analysis, reminds me of scholar bot's channel (I hope I have spelt their channel name properly)..when you mentioned book reports, it reminded me of their indepth reviews. I too miss Katey Flowers tarot video's, but they have a book /life channel, so I get to listen to their perspectives and creativity in their clothes choices, so win win. I do not like to watch " I used these decks because of the season/zodiac sign... blah blah" because I do not categorise my own decks that way. It is purely vibes, that denote my choices. So there isn't much connect with those type of videos. HOWEVER there is one channel I'll watch, 3 girls one deck - cause 3 very funny, but different perspectives on books, hobbies, tv n movies and ofcourse decks. I like your Affirmations of intention. that is cool to keep you focused, fellow adhd, tangent brain.
@tangytarot15 күн бұрын
ScholarBot's insights are great! Love the way they present their information. And yes, I've been loving Katey's recent videos on her current channel too! I personally don't click with videos related to zodiac sign anymore 👀 Zodiac signs are really abstract for me, so I don't have grasp on what each feels like or how they're distinct. Hahah yes, fellow adhd, tangent brain indeed 🥰
