"Reflection" Stand | The HEALING Power of the Outdoors

This is the story of Brian Clarey's 2021 hunting season and how he embraced his appreciation and passion for the outdoors during the hardest year of his life. After the passing of his mother from a long battle with cancer and a health scare with his Dad, Brian reflects on how he and his family used the outdoors and hunting as a temporary escape and bonding opportunity. What became known as the "Reflection Stand" not only helped Brian heal amidst nature, but also harvest a buck that his Mom was a part of in more ways than one.

Know the feeling my friend, my wife of 35 years died from chron's disease, which she was sick for 32 of those years, 8 days later my farther-in-law died from cancer 6 months later my mother died from cancer, 1 year from my wife's death my mother-in-law died in a horrible car accident, was rough going but I pull through it my blessings go out to you and your family may the good Lord Jesus Christ bless y'all, tks for the wonderful video, I too hunt deer and etc. It's true the woods and water are a healer that's where I spent most of the time after all of this your heart opens back up with your thoughts in the outdoor it truly is a life changer tks once again I'm ,69 now don't get out as much keep this videos coming.

My granddad was diagnosed two years ago with the same cancer, three months later we lost him and that same year I bought my first bow, hung up the rifle and it has saved my mind from destroying me, no one in my family hunts but my granddad would always buy my trail cameras and stuff like that and he would make me send him what I got on video, I think about him a lot in the stand but in a healthy way, I miss him but when I’m in a tree with my bow I feel so connected to him it’s almost like he’s with me

You have no idea how much this hits home. My mother was my best friend and the glue of the family. We are from a smaller town in Ohio. She left me a note before she died from a 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. Telling me to think of her when I am in the woods or fishing. Since then I’ve struggled hunting. It’s also hard to hunt state land where I live. So I’ve kept away from hunting. It still kinda hurts. I’m glad to see this. I’m sure gonna try this year to knock one down. God love y’all.

Sorry for your loss. My story is just opposite of yours. I lost my dad due to heart issues in 2000. 6 months later I lost my mother due to cancer. I was 19 at the time. The absolute worse year of my life. My advice to anyone who still has their parents, spend as much time with them as possible. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

That 8 pointer was 3.5 front shoulder was same size as his back end. That means 3.5. If 2t the shoulder would be smaller than the back end
