This composition reminds of when I found peace after years of sadness. Throughout I could see and feel the pain, I could hear my whispers of longing for solace, and I could feel the warmth of finding that solace. This piece brought tears to my eyes which silently fell as I was transported to my past and redelivered to my present. Bravo!

I know this kind of music. Inside the mind. No meaning, but there is. Out of this world. Like stareing at a blank wall but giving it sense. Its like a windy walk with a little rain but no other noise just the wind blowing lightly. Its like a dream. A blank dream that you forgot.

I really am so glad you’ve uploaded a new piece that really is stunning, it seems simple but has so much more to it. I have found your channel in a comment section of another video and listened to most of your music, keep up the good work but also do not feel the need to rush your compositions. I Love your music so much and the scenery in this video is so beautiful and fitting for the song. Keep it up :) Also I recentley got into composing, do you know any ways a composition could be improved or developed? I will be releasing what I think is my best composition so far on my channel over the course of this week but I do struggle to add alot depth to it (maybe You could give me an opinion on it once I release it). I do not know alot about music theory and the way I find ideas is just looking for what sounds good on the piano, is there any better ways? I have done some research but most people/guides try to force you into a certain style and I want to find a style of my own. Maybe you know something that would help me? Sorry if this comment seems a little long but I had many questions :) -Matt
@LukeFaulkner
@LukeFaulkner 5 жыл бұрын
Hello Mateusz, apologies for the delay - I'm replying one vid at a time this week (and saw your other kind comment yesterday!) I'm guessing the people you've asked have recommended gaining knowledge of music theory and doing counterpoint exercises & pastiches in the style of Bach etc. Imitation might seem like a way of forcing you into one style at first, but it does give you techniques and understanding which can come in useful even when writing in a completely unique style. For example, Schoenberg knew Wagner's music inside out long before he wrote serialist music. However, this certainly isn't the only way! ;) You clearly have a natural instinct for music (I've listened to both your uploads) and that's a good start. As a cheeky shortcut into harmony, take a triad i.e. A minor (A, C, E), pick a note within this triad (say, E) and move it a step at a time in each direction and see how the new chord sounds (E goes up to F, you have F major - A, C, F), move it up another step and you have an Italian 6th (A, C, Fsharp) which can resolve to G major if you want it to. It's a technique called "parsimonious voice leading" - basically, if you get stuck moving your music somewhere new, play around with the chord you're stuck on in this fashion until you find a chord that works for you. This might open up a new space that you can explore. Music is basically exploration given form. Harmony is one of the keys to exploration, motivic repetition is one of the keys to form. Repeat an early theme towards the end and you've basically got the rudiments of Ternary Form (one of the most commonly used frameworks). I hope these two tools (parsimonious voice leading and motivic repetition) help in some way. I'm afraid, it's the most I can really do in the context of a KZbin comment...

(I am not a hater) I like you music a lot, but there is still something something that could be better (I don't know what, but something that Chopin, Mozart, or lyzt used to have). Maybe that's why they are the music's genius. Like I said, your music is so good and makes me remember the romanticism and mostly probably the best in our times.
