I just tried this repair but using gel superglue - total fail, cures too quickly to get the surround aligned properly. glue sticks super good to the rubber though. I used same glue to fix the surround on an infinity subwoofer and it worked perfectly. Live and learn.

Ofcourse you glue the outer ring! Then it would just flap and create alot of noises or even damage the speaker, also air can pass trough the gap between the surround and the frame so yes, glue the outer ring!

It was a much better video if you had shown to glue the outher foam ring too. What about using a seringe with needle to add the glue i.o. a small brush?

Good afternoon, First thanks for your reply. See also: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153296478638?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Text: 1 x 15ml. Acoustic adhesive (not PVA) for the repair of your speakers (This adhesive is suitable for foam and rubber beading and dry very flexible.) One bottle is usually sufficient for: 2 x 10 inches + sealing edges on the front of the basket. 2 x 8 inches + sealing edges on the front of the basket. 4 x 6.5 inches + sealing edges on the front of the basket. (1 - 2 bottle) 4 x 4 inches + sealing edges on the front of the basket. Above, of course, depends on how you use the glue. A little story (and video tutorials) on our webshop: Audiofriends has chosen the best adhesive after extensive testing. This is not the cheapest glue for us, but an adhesive based on water; It is flexible and extremely strong. The glue is part of the repair. The special glue is similar to the wood glue, but is certainly another product. Both types of glue are water-based, but wood glue is clearly much harder and shrinks much more. The adhesive should be flexible and must be able to move with the foam back and forth. If the adhesive shrinks too much, shrinkage at certain points can adversely affect the bond between the membrane and the foam by using the foam. The adhesive supplied by us is also very strong, usually even stronger than the foam, and is water-based. The adhesive is particularly suitable for attaching the foam + rubber surrounds and caps and is then used by most repair companies. Audiofriends has conducted extensive trials of various types of glue on difficult surfaces. The drying time of the adhesive depends on a few conditions: How warm is the environment? The drying time varies when the ambient temperature is 19 or 36 degrees Celsius. How thick do you apply the adhesive? And do you use glue on both materials to treat or just one? In addition, the drying time also depends on how porous the material is. For example, when it comes to plastic, the glue dries less quickly than paper / cardboard. The purchase concerns 1 x acoustic adhesive (15ml) This is NOT about speakers. The glue will be send under normal circumstances after 0-6 working days after receiving the payment. This is a water based adhesive that is not frost resistant. If you get this glue in an outside mailbox, there is a risk of freezing. Best regards, Fred
