As a 10-year Destiny veteran, it’s pretty obvious to me that this game isn’t marketed to me. I do not play mobile games, and I do not spend money on MTX. This is for a specific audience that does.

Mobile games with high end quality has been on the rise for the past decade. I know that a lot of “gamer” turn their nose up when one comes out but they are genuinely great. Specially when you aren’t a gambling addict and spent 0 dollars and get to play a brand new game completely free.
@ReforgeGaming3 ай бұрын
yup this could be huge for destiny 3
@GamePlayuh95103 ай бұрын
I turn my nose up at them because they're busywork simulators that don't care about the actual player experience, and whether it's meaningful or not. Most of the "quality" you're talking about is pretty character art and banger soundtracks. Both of which could exist outside the scope of the game. I've never played one of these mobile games that I would actually recommend to anyone. They're the fast food of gaming. You play it on break at work because it's quick and easy. But whenever I have the time, I prefer playing actual games, rather than cash shop grind simulators.

Plenty of great potential here. A. A new start for Destiny. Clean slate for everyone B. They can use the old lore as source material that either hasn't been fleshed out or had a deep dive. Think Marvel Disney what if? C. Space magic can fold a character or scenario from this universe of DR into the main DU. We know that the vex are in this rising universe. Potential Osiris, Bray and anyone that has encountered Vex tech. D. Bungie can see ideas that they wanted tested and maybe use them in the main game. E. They test the US market bc they know the Asian market will devour this. If they can make money on us that's just a bonus. Also anime and merch sales not just "Risingverse" could be lucrative.

Im interested because for a couple of reasons. One its set in the golden age, something we have only gotten to read about. Two we getting supers and mythic weapons that we have never seen. Also we havent seen what the micros are like so it could be done in a good way. Plus mobile games have come along way and itll run good on my S24 Ultra.

This might actually turn out to be a friendly competition and bring innovation if netease develops things for a mobile game version of destiny that destiny 2 doesn't actually have, and maybe it will drive them to actually create something new and unique for the main game.

Netease could be on to a winner here. How much revenue Bungie get out of it comes down to that licensing deal. Im not sure I trust bungie when it comes to signing contracts though. I wouldnt be surprised to hear down the line that Bungie grabbed the 100mill in desperation and signed a less then optimal licenscing deal.

This sounds to me like a summoners war type of game and if it is IM IN!. It is a gatcha game and that’s ok as long as they make it just like summoners war :). The only thing that doesn’t sound like summoners war is the “shooter” part..
@ReforgeGaming3 ай бұрын
how is the monetization in that game?
@juniorcorporan33993 ай бұрын
@@ReforgeGaming I have been playing summoners war for 7years on and off and the only time I spent money on that game was like 2-3 years ago that I decided to support them with a $99 in game purchase because I’ve been enjoying the game for so long. So basically you can play it 100% w/o spending money on it and you will make a lot of progress but obviously spending money would make you advance a lot faster. In reality gatcha games are so random that spending money on them makes no sense. Even when you buy stuff it’s for you to basically have a chance at a slot machine 🎰 per say. With all that said, I rewatched your video and I would say Rising sounds more like Epic Seven (have not played it) which it’s a clone of summoners war but with actual gear/weaps upgrades.

Destiny 1 Beta vetran here, this game has no appeal to me whatsoever. I think this product is designed to introduce a whole new audience to the Destiny universe and then hope they spill over into the Destiny 2 PC or console experience. Gaming on mobile is still complete trash in my opinion, it's not gaming when most games have mechanics that revolve around literally waiting for time to pass. I am willing to bet money that they will introduce mechanics revolved around crafting materials to power up your "guardian" but those materials take 6 hours to craft or something awful like that. Netease also made one of the most disgusting mtx ridden games in history (Diablo: Immortal) so another reason to avoid.

For me personally I couldn't probably care any less for this sadly, I feel the franchise is doing anything but "rising" tbh. But it's obviously not made for me and that's ok, but I find it an odd use of resources when D3 is where the focal should be. However if this is a stop gap then it makes sense. For me tho I broke free in May of 23 and it's best thing I ever did, I don't miss this franchise for a second. The only way id ever return to destiny is if they ever made pvp an integral part of the game, and made it once again worth the time. If this helps them pivot to d3 that's great but somehow I doubt that.
