Today, we will be reforming Austria Hungary in Age of History 2. Age of History 2 is a mapping game that allows you to play in any time period in any country. Today, we play in the modern day as Austria and work towards the Austro-Hungarian Empire. First, we take on our neighbors, like Czechia, Slovakia, Croatia, and Slovenia, to form the Austrian Empire. Usually when I play aoh2 I like to get to 70-100k before declaring war, maybe a bit less if I'm a small country, so I can basically spam recruit as the optimal defense

From what Ive learned playing AOH II. You just need a Large Tax Base withought upsetting ure people. Then u need ure Tech Points to mainly go All into Research, 4 - 5 or 6 depending on the quantity of stars. And the rest should go to 50-50 Administration and Military Upkeep. Then you should immediatly declare war on Powerful Nations that you need for land. As most of the times. They won't have a lot of Soldiers in the beginning. You also need to send Armies into Provinces occupied by u incase an Opposing Army is heading to it. Basically u should have Future Based Army Planning and not Present Based Army PLanning. As Opposing Armies in AI AOH II always move around on ure provinces. And it makes more sense to attack them where they would be and not where they are, bc then when u attack to Presently occupied Enemy territories, The Army over there will be inside ure territory. And withought ure Army in those areas, they would be on the front lines and not in the Mainland. The Opposing AI Army will likely spread out. And it will then be extra hard to take over land.

one time I had everything but Bosnia or something like that, and as I was preparing Italy launched a massive invasion with a stack of 31k, so yeah that stinks but good job at forming Austria hungary! I would've needed Italy anyway but I guess I'm just confused at how many they had considering the game wasn't that old lol

Will you ever try the mods for this game? Also you're being too careful in the start of the game, economic build-up isn't very needed at the start if you haven't conquered a nearby weak country or 2 (like Slovakia), and you'll get economy from there anyways if you stabilize them. And try to split up your attacks more if you heavily outnumber them to save time. Also improve relations with nearby strong countries so they don't attack you in the future. Trading for provinces is weird btw it doesn't work usually and countries value them way too much (it works better in the Bloody Europe II mod though)
