Easy & understandable explanation... 👌 One of our college's professor has alloted this practical. Firstly, I study from practical guide-book, and then watch KZbin videos from different channel. Each one channel's explanation wasn't easy to understand. Your video clears all of my doubts... Today, I've successfully determined the refractive index of prism... Thank you so much Sir. 🙏🏻

Sir, I had a doubt. For the angle of prism one, what parameter are we changing for multiple readings, if nothing, then how will we get different readings than the first one?
@AllLabExperiments3 жыл бұрын
Just change the scale. You will find a screw on the spectrometer. If you unlock that you wilp be able to rotate the scale and the readings in V1 and V2 will change.

How is that 2A Calculated Sir ? is it the addition of the two values after subtracting?
@AllLabExperiments Жыл бұрын
It is double of the angle of prism so it is called as 2A. It will come out to be very close to 120. Now just half it and you will get angle of prism.
@ncedonqeto9107 Жыл бұрын
@@AllLabExperiments I mean sir , you said we minus the smallest value from the highest value and get 3A ....which small and highest value actually? Because we have two values at position 1 right and 2 values at position 2 ?...So how do we get 2A from these 4 values...that is my confusion🥺
@AllLabExperiments Жыл бұрын
@@ncedonqeto9107 observe only one vernier scale in position 1 and 2 and take its difference. Keep the reading of each spectrometer scale separate. And after calculations take mean of both answers.

Can we use mercury source instead of sodium
@AllLabExperiments Жыл бұрын
Yes. But in that case you can calculate the refractive index of prism for dofferent wavelengths and it varies with wavelength. Just find it for all of them. Don,t take mean at the end.

sir isme jo hum sodium lamp use karte hai uski wavelegth to 5890-5896 A* tak hoti hai, it means it is not a white-light, then why prism break it into the visible spectrum? because as I know sirf white light ko hi seven color me break kiya ja skta hai?
@AllLabExperiments5 ай бұрын
@@No_doubt_nobita prism hr light ko.uski wavelength ke acc bend krta h. White light me sab colour mix hote h kam ya jyada me to sab bend hokr chale jate h apni apni jagah. And agr only two wavelengths ke sath ye exp kiya jaye like this to wo bhi apni wavelength ke acc bend ho rahi h. Slightly different wavelength show slightly dofferent bending
@No_doubt_nobita5 ай бұрын
@@AllLabExperiments it means yellow light is also a combination of seven colors? if not, then prism ko unhe alag-alag nhi karna chahiye tha?

Can we observe the spectra lines of diamond, plz show how to identify gems with this instrument
@AllLabExperiments4 жыл бұрын
Yup you can. But your need to shape diamond or glass in a certain way for comparison. Otherwise solve eqn all to its shape.... The refractive index of glass or diamond is different this will change the deviation angle of light
