Refreshing Tamarind Juice.

I was in Haiti a few weeks ago and a friend prepared tamarind juice from scratch . Jesus Lord!!! It was AMAZING!!!!! I live in Canada and its obviously not as easy to find fresh tamarind, so thank you for this recipe that i will try to reproduce 😊😊😊

I've had Tamarind juice before and I loved it. I cannot remember if it was at a Mexican or Puerto Rican restaurant in Mexican-town (Detroit) but I was shocked to find out that Tamarind is not naturally sweet. Thank you for this recipe, I might give it a try.

Hi Chris I love Tamarind juice and anyone that can make or take the time to share how it is made, so here is a technique that I use when I am making myself a batch. After I soak the Tamarind ( I have a tree outside my house) I use a "Dhal Gutney" to separate the precious pulp from the fiber and seeds. It works really well, try it and let me know what you think.

Fred Jefferson Just curious, is there any other tamarind? They are huge tress and no one sprays anything on them. Season after season, they can be harvested without any intervention. So any tamarind u buy is the same. Of course, buy from those who sell tamarind sourced from reliable processing units.

Oh helllll no you didn’t Chris. Essence in juice??? No bro. I only ever experienced this in Antigua, as a Dominican I’ve never known essence in juice. I’ll use this recipe, minus the bitters and DEFINITELY no essence. Thanks.

Too much sugar, I prefer my tamarind with its natural sour taste, perhaps a few dates to the mix is enough to balance it out.
