That is common problem, however he never turned it off and checked. Most hvac companies don't allow their tech's to dig into a main panel.

That was a nice condensing unit, really like how it was set up. Looks like they were even using nema contactors instead of the definite purpose junk that we always see now.

Hey rookie, what's up man? I am an electrician turned hvacr tech. To me it looks like that breaker terminal itself was the problem. Its not uncommon for some gorilla to come in during the panel install and torque the crap out of those breaker bus bar screws. Sometimes they're even stripped out. It may be stripped or loose which caused the arcing. Once it starts arcing it only get worse from there. Not sure if that was the problem, but it would be my educated guess. Nice video man, keep them coming.

Question related to HVACR- what is your normal saturated condensing tempteture should be during low ambient or what tempteture it should not fall bellow, I heard 85 to 105F I want to understand low ambient head pressure control properly what is that magic number it should not fall bellow also one refrigeration tech was telling me you will want a 70 degree F liquid temp going to your TXV for better operation can you explain this a little in detailed way so I dont have ask others thank you.. Thank you.
@wd85573 жыл бұрын
It limit's the flow of liquid refrigerant from the condenser and at the same time regulates the flow of hot gas around the condenser to the receiver it's basic as that. When it is cold outside or even let's say in my case one time -10 degrees that is were it kick's in. You have to maintain head pressure, the system must be properly charged. People are quick to say Oh! it's cold out and the system is not working must be my head pressure valve? When 99% of the time you have a small leak and the system is not at the proper charge.

looks like the breaker screw was loose on the bus bar, high start current can make it arc open, you resetting it moved it enough to make contact and possibly arc closed again. I hope the bozo's cleaned the panel bus bar or it will fail again. **it should be replaced if it's been arc welding though, I think those panels have replaceable sections
