I knew guys that started in their 40s. You can start this career late. Just probably need to focus on one area of it. If you like refrigeration, just focus on that alone. I do HVAC/R as a whole. I started at 20 and im 33 now. If you stick to being a master of one instead of a jack of all trades you will be fine. You just can't give up no matter how hard the day was. That's the key to refrigeration. It is extremely unrewarding until you mess up enough times to learn how not to mess up.

Does the glide in 407c affect the pressure control settings at times when using it as your temperature controller?

I think it does for sure. That's why I chose to use a thermostat too.

Any advice for a new technician ?

The job doesn't end when the work day ends. Your job continues on your free time to watch youtube Hvac videos, take courses, read articles, read books. Take your job home with you. Just don't take home the stress or employee drama. Most importantly have fun with it. Make it into your hobby and you'll never have to work a day in your life again. Don't chase the money. Chase getting better everyday. When you are a good technician, the money will come, dont worry.
