I also would like to add that refugees can also be considered “illegal” in the sense that they enter the state without the acknowledgment of the state for whatever reason. It’s after the “illegal refugee(s)” settle down that they then start the in processing. Thank you for this lecture, very informative and thought provoking.

How are they "illegal immigrants" if they're seeking asylum which isn't illegal? You are very right in saying that the difference between migrants and refugees isn't clear for everyone. Neither is the difference between asylum seekers and refugees.
