REFUSE (previously The Unconceding) - Megaman Zero fan animatic

1 year later, from initially made as impromptu fun project collaborate with artist ひなべ (Hinabe); turned out to be the longest progress had ever made; finally finish!
It still a project for fun! But I never expected it will take this long, especially us busy with real life both professional and personal. I remember I tried my best to slip this project everytime I had downtime from office work on Storyboard Pro, except one scene Harpuia said "Die!" 3 times I tested drawing it in Procreate Dream. Throughout ups and downs, we made it! 3rd animatic!
It all began when I sat down appreciating and mesmerized by Hinabe's version of Megaman Zero story in manga form (I translate + learning Japanese slowly as small hobby) it was back then the latest chapter. I sat up quickly, how strong this scene was considering Ciel has past with Neo Arcadia life and Zero's lines are top-notch.
And coincidentally, Luna & I had done old 1st animatic Pre-MMZX Ciel and Harpuia version (this is before met Hinabe). In 1st animatic, we made them established comrades between them. A lucky coincidence! I decided to give it a try to storyboard and animatic Hinabe's version scene, communicate with Hinabe for the first time to ask permission. Everything's greenlit, and here we are! Everyone please read the manga whenever you can!
Another news, this will be Luna's last involvement as Ciel for now. And I may follow her footsteps sooner or later to take a break from doing fanart animatic, or even take a break from voicing as Harpuia. Our lives will be busier than ever; she'll be furthering her acting career and I'll be furthering Master degree soon while repairing my haywire life. Not to worry! I still have two animatics left and it's not as complex as this. They will be simple scenes, no Ciel and less Harpuia involvement (I think Harpuia only has like 3 lines). After those 2 finish, I'll be off to do non-Megaman stuff; but that doesn't mean I abandon MMZ! We'll return when the time comes :D

What a lot of people forget is that Ciel helped create the Four Guardians based off X's schematics and that the Guardians were online for just a short while before X sacrificed himself to seal away the Mother Elf, so the only 'father' they truly know is Copy X. This scene isn't just a general trying to bring home one of Neo Arcadia's smartest people, it's one of a child trying to bring home his 'mother' and not understanding why she would be trying to flee from the peaceful life 'father' made for them.

Missed opportunity for Zero to ask: "What are YOU fighting for?" Seriously though, excellent animation and great voice acting choices! I've always loved the aesthetics and setting of the world of Megaman Zero, and I always felt that the story was severely held back by the system it was on. But I'm glad you're taking it upon yourself to realize that potential for a powerful narrative that Capcom seems to ignore. Thank you for your work

I immediately imagine MMZ Zero suddenly change voice to MMX4 Zero voice with that line🤣🤣 It all thanks to Cyan Hahn, Luna, and the fan-manga Hinabe’s version of MMZ story! And true! The story has so much potential. But very understandable during the time MMZs were fresh from the oven of 2000s, the tech was limited. Now as time goes by, hope when the time comes, Capcom able to explore, enhance story, addressing plotholes, and expand characters that are more than 1 or 2 dimensional characters! This is the third time I've come back to watch this. The first time I was blown away by The Voice acting, the second time I how to keep pausing rewinding to look at parts of the animation storyboarding and this time I'm focusing on all of the sound mixing and editing and it's so impressive to see all of the work that's gone into making this and I keep being blown away by it!!!

Unfortunately, the next two animatics are not ZX related. I’m familiar with ZX/A, but not an avid fan much of them. 😅 The only thing I care about inside ZX/A is anything related to Four Guardians (via Model H, L, P, F). I remember when I was a kid, I had hard time to accept that Four Guardians turn into souls in Biometals, plus “New Four Megamen” Atlas, Helios, Siarnaq & Thetis. 😂😂But as I grew up, I’m slowly fond of Atlas and Siarnaq. I’m forever MMZ lover through and through (and a bit of X7 & X8 depend on mood) and still look into other series as well in normal. However, I do already have idea in my mind for long time on ZXA-related, but I put it in veeery below of my To-Do List regarding Four Guardians & “New Four Megamen”. Currently not my priority. But that I must hush hush and it will have to be next time when time allows.🤫🙇🏻‍♀️ Thank you for the offer!
