I have huge respect for Rega and this is a very good and well made video. I have an RP10 and enjoy it immensely. I met Phil Freeman at Bristol last year and he proved to be a fascinating chap and is clearly a dedicated and brilliant engineer of their record players. He explained to me their design and engineering ethos. Great company.

I just recently acquired a P3 turntable with an Elys 2 cartridge (needed a Rega phono stage with it too). Excellent value for what it is. Almost no one can compete with them at this price range. It's light years better than my old P2 and the sound quality is astonishing. No wonder vinyl's making a comeback !

I bought a Rega Planer 3 in the early 80. I loved it, even preferred it to my buddies Linn Sondek. Unfortunately when I emigrated from England to Canada in 2002 I gave it to a family member. One of my biggest regrets. it's on my list of gifts to myself sometime in the future.

I have made up my mind. I will have a New P10 and a Rega phono stage for home. I have not been playing my vinyl lately and now staring at them everyday since this pandemic I miss dropping that needle. Buying vinyl since ‘84, I have over 2,000 LPs now. Always had my eye on Rega.

Mr. Gandy uses the techniques he learnt at Ford and adapted them for turntable manufacture . I don't know why he doesn't offer Litz wiring in the tonearm to the phono plugs preferably at least as an option though , the benefits are well known and anything that improves the signal transfer to get it into the amp at those low voltage levels has got to be good surely. It transformed my elderly Rega.

Thumbs up great company....i still remember the day many many years ago. I have an old planar 3 with an S arm. I was wondering about oiling the turntable platter shaft. I asked Rega what is hygroscopic oil that i heard from the internet. Rega wad kind enough posted the oil to.me from UK to Malaysia. I was touched. From then On i bought many rega product. Rega P3 and RP3, Rega Apollo, Rega Brio ( the latest shoe box design). Somehow i am not a fan of side firing woofer....i wished Rega will make the old fashioned monitor speaker like the Wharfedale Linton. Where one prop up on spesker stand. Different living room got different height sette or lazy chair. Most British floor speaker are short and one need to slouch on the chair to get stereo image.

I can't think of any. Been streaming Spotify, Tidal Qobuz for decades and one doesn't have to get up and change the side of the record...but it's supposed to be good to move a bit. Sound is energetic and dynamic. I got a good deal. Got the Fono Mk 5 to go with it.@@kappkinez

Hi, the Plus includes the MM stage so you need to connect to input 2 or 3.

Why doesn't Rega make a higher spec version of the RB250 arm in parallel with the RB250 itself, as it does for example with the RB300 which has 3 higher spec siblings? And more importantly, will we ever see a 12" version of the RB250?

I higher spec RB220 is an RB330 and so on up the range. We will not be making a 12" tonearm.

By higher spec RB250 I meant another tonearm with the same design but built to a tighter specification, something. like an RB250SE for example, sporting better bearings, a tungsten counterweight, cabling - the works. I guess some people would be interested in buying it. I guess building a 12" tonearm is a far different proposition requiring all sorts of research, investment etc. but an up-spec RB250 is not as difficult to produce. Just out of interest, why are you not making a longer tonearm? Do you consider tonearms longer than 9" inherently inferior technically?

You can get a rough idea how old your Planar 3 is by taking the cover off the motor on the underside, the motor should have four digits printed on it separate from any other numbers, this is the week and year your motor was made. My motor says 4488, so my Planar 2 was manufactured late 1988 or early 1989.

I have a very nice marantz cd player but I prefer putting on the vinyl on my rega 3, getting the vinyl out of that large easy to read & stylish cover (not a plastic small convenience case) & treating it like a piece of art which is what music is. All that hard work put into music deserves something special hence my rega 3.

Problem with too many Rega turntable : Hard to find one with the right speed. So the pitch is less than perfect... shame because I like the sound... If some one know how to ajust the speed, I will re-give Rega a try..

If you have unstable pitch on any Rega turntable then there is a problem and it requires servicing. Audible pitch variation is not possible with our design if working correctly.

this isn't about pitch variation (as you would already know!). its the pitch running faster than 33.3rpm. having said that... the .2% faster pitch really means nothing to me. its just a dick measuring competition for people who prefer other brands and want to bag the Rega brand. its meaningless in real life. I have perfect pitch and am very sensitive to something running faster or slower... I can pick it a mile away. I'm not a robot either... and my P3-24 which I've measured runs at 33.5 rpm is something I cant audibly detect. trolls are gonna troll@@regaresearchuk
