As a lifelong Harry Potter fan, the first film I "rode in" the 2002-2004 roller coaster (with the then-new REG logo) was The Chamber Of Secrets at Regal Oceanside on 11/15/2002. By coincidence, the final two-part HP7 films, The Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 were the first 2 films I "took a ride in" the more spectacular revived roller coaster (same 2002 audio) in front of them at the now-defunct UA Cerritos (and in awesome Sony 4K), which brought me full circle and as a nod to my first HP film I saw at a theater 9 years ago as well as being the final HP films I would ever see. In fact, I saw movies with Harry, Ron, and Hermione in all three of the REG brands: Regal, Edwards, and UA. What memories

Such a _pang_ of nostalgia for this. Our Regal Cinema, Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, became a fitness place over a decade ago but seeing this now it feels like I was at the movies only yesterday. I don't know what compelled me to search 'regal cinema coaster' this morning out of the blue but here I am.

Born in 1988, totally remember this back in the 90's. I remember seeing this before movies like ''The Nightare Before Christmas" and "The Lion King". To us, this wasn't just some intro. It was the roller coaster that transported us into the story of our film, regardless of what story that was. Your imagination could exceed beyond the mere fact you were watching a movie in a theater auditorium.

I remember seeing this for the first time before “Finding Nemo.” I was kinda thrilled how thrilling this ride was on-screen. One other thing I have not seen in ages and years is “The 2wenty,” a Regal-exclusive pre-show introduced around February 2003 as the birth of digital cinema advertising that moviegoers hated at first due to the unnecessary loudness of the program, which was why the 35mm still ad slides became extinct for good. Of course this was before FirstLook and then Noovie. I wish anybody has footage of The 2wenty because I feel like I missed out a lot on that old pre-show due to being on time in the past, though the Seinfeld behind-the-scenes featurette (as part of promoting the seasons only on DVD) I believe, is pretty much the only one I can remember from The 2wenty before “The Polar Express,” and also the Skittles Smoothie Mix commercial (sheep boys) before the first Madagascar film

As of Today (May 14, 2013), the Roller Coaster is still going strong! Went there to see Iron Man 3, and sure enough both it and the 'Go Big or Go Home' ad were both playing. Granted, it was in an unusual order, as follows: 1. Sprint "Silence Your Cell Phone" Policy 2. Go Big or Go Home 3. "Epic"-themed "Be quiet during the movie" policy 4. The Roller Coaster (FTW) 5. Movie Trailers Thankfully the "Go Big or Go Home" crap is just a commercial, rather than a feature presentation trailer.

Took me forever but I finally won the argument with my entire family that the doors at the very end switch sides and is an error. My family loved arguing, but it took a lot to get anyone to admit when they were wrong. I'm not really sure how many movies it took but they finally succumbed.

Does anyone remember another theater's intro like this that showed CG animation like this video, but it showed molten metal being poured into a mold and pressed, and at the end, the metal press retracts to reveal the theater's golden logo. I think it was Cobb Theaters, but I can't find any trace of it. I remember another intro had this robot/mechanical arm holding a concession tray with popcorn and a soda on it across the top of the screen. It might have been from the same intro that I described above. Its driving me crazy. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Both of these things would have been from the 90's.
