Yeah if you're happy with the quality, advice and experience you're getting and can afford it then £55 is worth it. He gave him a noicee cut- much better than most of the barbers who don’t know anything about curls (obviously expected expertise from Regal Gentleman), but still WHY DO BARBERS TOUCH AND PLAY WITH CURLY HAIR WHEN TRYING TO STYLE THEM OR DIFFUSING THEM?? That just leads to frizz. He’s gonna get better curls out of his next at-home headwash because he’ll dry them gently and without touching them after applying the product. But anyways, noice haircut. Getting my curls cut is an anxiety inducing day for me every single time. Also, could someone help me- I used to have really long hair and I got them cut almost a year ago. They’re 3a to 3b types but JUST THE BACK area of my head has wavy when my hair’s short (not straight either. & they curl up if I let them grow again). What kinda haircuts would you suggest i should get or anything I can do to have them curly as well, rather than keeping them short all the time?

Sorry haha. Take pictures in to the barber and see what they can do, there will be a barber that will probably surprise you. Or at the very least if this sort of style isn't popular in the part of the US you're from, it may help the barber to start to learn that style. I'm sure there's a barber somewhere close that does want to learn, if they don't have the skill to do it currently. When you find a barber you can communicate with effortlessly that wants to give you the best style for you, that's the best thing!

I was having issues communicating to my barber that this is the style I wanted ,and as a result he would always connect the sides up to the top of the hair. But thanks to you I see that the disconnect on the sides is key. And the back is connected, which is also info I was missing. And your explanation on using the cantu leave-in conditioner was also super insightful. Thanks a ton gents! Saludos desde California

Use whenever you wash and style your hair and want to control your curls. It's not a replacement for conditioner for example, would still use conditioner when you wash your hair if you're doing that every day. And how much to use will depend on the length of your hair, thickness, how curly it is etc.. But try a pea sized amount at first and put more in if you feel you need it!

Loved the tutorial! Been trying to find a new hairstyle for my curly hair but would like to know what you mean by disconnected or connected undercut. What's the difference?
@RegalGentleman6 жыл бұрын
Essentially disconnected means that it's not blended in. You wouldn't really ask for a "connected undercut" so I wouldn't worry about this. But an "undercut" typically refers to any cut where the sides are left short and the top left much longer. If you notice in the video about 4:30 Richard said that he connected at the back but left the sides disconnected. You could have one side disconnected, both sides or the back too. All will affect the style slightly and depends what you like or how you want it to sit. Names are always confusing though as there's so many different variations, so would avoid these and try to show pictures where possible. Make sense?

@RegalGentleman6 жыл бұрын
From the top not a lot of length was lost. It was just freshened up, taking off the ends really. Cantu it was about the size of 1-2 blueberries worth. It will be different dependent on the length of your hair and how dry it is though, so it's best to try yourself. Start with a small amount and then apply more if your hair still feels dry.
