My favourite Doctor Who season 11 theme, the 13th Doctor theme that the show's new composer Segun Akinola composed for Jodie Whittaker's character, forms the centerpiece of this Doctor Who cover. Jodie Whittaker's theme feels different, but at the same time kind of familiar, just like the 13th Doctor herself. So when I arranged the music for this guitar cover, I decided to combine the new theme with some of the previous composer Murray Gold's music for the show. Titled "Regeneration", this cover is my tribute to Doctor Who and the Doctors!

Listen to the fast violin staccatos that start at 2:18. They are playing the ostinato from A Good Man and are the first hint that the theme is coming. At 2:32 the guitar plays the main melody from A Good Man, but it‘s much faster than in the original, so it‘s not immediately obvious.

I've been watching Dr Who for 40 years since Tom Baker was the doctor, but I must say - the music has evolved with the 13th Doctor - Jodie Whittaker- to heights of such intensity and beauty that it cant possibly get any better. And Jodie Whittaker is awesome as the Doctor. She is the crowning glory of all the former Doctors. Will never miss an episode.

I have listened to a lot of covers and edits of 'Doctor Who' music in my time... seriously, so many. But this is possibly my favourite! You merged together the different themes of the past into the Thirteenth Doctor's theme so well. Plus the editing. I wasn't expecting this much effort. Very well done indeed. Ooh, a competition. Well I'm a couple of weeks late so I expect someone else has got there first but my attempt at music spotting: 1 - Thirteenth Doctor's theme 2 - 'The Doctor's Theme' (aka Ninth Doctor's theme) 3 - which then drifts into 'Vale Decem' (or the part that mimics the Ninth Doctor's theme but in a more epic tone for the Tenth Doctor's character) 4 - which then drifts into 'Doomsday' (seriously, the merging of these pieces is beautiful) - continuing the Tenth Doctor's and reeling back down to the Ninth Doctor's again. 5 - Subtly bringing 'I Am The Doctor' (aka Eleventh Doctor's theme) into it. 6 - And then naturally, 'A Good Man? (Twelve's Theme)' (whoever named it even did the brackets for me on this one). - then a more blatant Eleventh Doctor's. - and back to Thirteenth Doctor's with those beautiful cuts... Again, I have to say - Fantastic guitar work, Borna Matosic. Stunning vocals, Stefanie J. And beautiful production, BAMBOO BANDIT.

The only little detail that‘s worth adding is that the rhythm section (those fast staccato strings) of A Good Man makes its entrance already parallel to the return of 9‘s theme, they both play on top of each other. So in the moments when 11‘s theme chimes in, there are three themes in harmony at the same time! :) I‘m glad that you acknowledged Stefanie J.‘s vocals, too! Her voice replaced a programmed choir and added a lot of life to the mix!

I only just found this, and I'm so glad, even if you just made this 50+ year old fan cry. :) Jodie like Colin had a bit of a rough run (well, not quite that bad-- poor Colin) but despite the plague, the uneven scripts, and a production team daring to experiment and feel its way and having a few misses as well as a few times they really soared- this music captures everything we hoped for, and everything I still love about Jodie's era. I must admit I haven't paid much attention to the new composer's music because none of it particularly stood out to me, even the 13th Doctor's theme, but you have now just made this theme a whole lot better. Well done for including the Doctor's Theme (9 and 10's theme), there's something so timeless and ethereal about it that it never gets old. If the current revival of Doctor Who should ever end (God forbid) then they should use this to accompany a tribute at the end. Emotions would be flying everywhere.

That was incredible. The incorporation of the other themes was amazing (i do reckon 11 and 12 could have had more but they're probably more difficult to incorporate). I literally barely moved an inch. I thought this was just gonna be another cover but boy was i wrong. The vocals hit the notes perfectly along with the guitar and you both captured and took further the feeling that the original theme gives. Really. Well done.

Wow! Thanks for the nice „review“! :-) 11‘s theme was especially tricky to incorporate, since its rhythm isn‘t really compatible with the others and I wanted to have 10, 11 and 12 all going on at the same time. I‘m glad you liked it so much!
