Also, if your in regen 1 or 2 it's nice that IF you need to break faster the break pedal press you into sort of B mode and regens like it would for B mode and can and will use machanical breaks as well. I put that info on my review. Best practices with egolf driving.

I love the e golf videos I think one thing you did not mention is regen will be weak or none at all with a fully charged battery and or with a cold pack.

Can I drive at stage 1 all the time or this may damage gear box?

It feels so weird driving in normal D or any normal ICE car now.😅 I love my VW but that ~100 mile range is really limiting, especially since my smaller town and the nearby cities really don't have much for recharge stations.

I drive our Toyota Sienna using engine braking all the time since it’s got the 6-speed sport shifting. But I know what you mean.

I like recuperation mode 3 or really, I normally drive in B, adds miles of life to brake pads.

Wait so I can drive around in B "mode"? I have been using it strictly as a brake. If I can save brake pads I would love to.

When you let off the pedal in B mode it recuperates at level three plus the vehicles brake lights engage.

I believe it's 2, 3, or B the lights come on if your needle hits the first solid line in the green zone (second actual line)

what is the range you have been getting in the Eco Plus mode?

I don't really use the eco plus mode but I tend to drive fairly efficiently and minimize use of climate control. Range is about 130-140.

I also don't do any highway driving which really hurts the range

@@TrainsFerriesFeet I go from Sacramento to SF on occasion and it’s possible to make it the 108 miles without charging. But, it requires using Eco mode and almost all of the regen modes depending if you’re going up/down hills, there’s stop-n-go traffic, and ideally going no more than 65 MPH to reduce drag but also keep up with the flow of traffic.

The eGolf has no 'true" 1-pedal capability...which to my mind is the thing I'd want the most in an EV. The eGolf is also one the most inefficient EVs in terms of MPGe (119). The Hyundai Ionic for example has 134 MPGe. Is that important? Yes. The Hyundai also has a LIFETIME unlimited battery replacement policy. Unless you can't have anything but a German car..I think there are better alternatives out there both less expensive and with more features. The Nissan Leaf for example has ALL the smart driving features as standard equipment on lower end models...not just the highest end model. To get all the driver assist features on the eGolf...prepare to cough up a lot more $$ to get the SEL trim. German cars have one thing in common...they option the bank account out of you, and the repairs...don't get me started on the repairs. There is an old saying...when buying a German car...get rid of it once the warranty runs out. The Golf is not popular in the USA for a reason and few people can trust VW after the infamous 2015 DIESELGATE disaster. They defrauded everybody. VW is trying to entice people back by going electric. It might work, but its hard to get back trust. Lastly...VW is killing the eGolf in 2019. A new, much better and less expensive ID series will be out in 2020.
