0:06 Is that a brush berm across the lazy flow? LOVE IT! 0:55 Look at all of the holm oak acorns! Some are sprouting. Collect the sprouting acorns and pot them up for sale at the local market as seedlings?? 1:20 A good place for a few "cross flow" vetiver slips. 1:36 Perfect! Next step is drilling 4" diameter holes with a post hole digger 60" deep (or too rock layer) if there are no oaks in the area. What do you think of that idea? 1:52 A thing of beauty! 2:56 Next generation holm oaks. 💖 5:05 Even the spillway water got a chance to soak. 6:49 You can continue to build up the leaky weirs as rocks become available on the farm and silt continues to back fill the weirs. You are getting close to the top of the banks! I very much appreciate how the creek pools step down the elevation change. PERFECT! You have made SO much progress with the restoration of the creek bed. 7:35 I always remember that this leaky weir (no longer leaking) was the result of the failed upstream earthen dam. Good illustration of how failures can become opportunities if you let nature guide your thinking. This is an excellent little wildlife pond - and the geese agree. Now they are looking for their gander while the ducks are too busy with their new drake to come out to play ! Can you do a short for me Martin? Stand where the wild olive fell over and sweep from the west distribution pond downstrem, stopping at some point well west of the decantadores? I would like to get a fix on the elevation change for the last sketch. THank you!

In some parts of Britain, a 'lazy' wind is just the opposite - it can't be bothered to go around you so it just blows straight through you (i.e. a very fast, cold wind). I do like your 'lazy river' very much. That slow-moving water is hopefully doing lots of good work!

Lazy rivers are not a new thing. Most rivers were lazy meandering swamp like things, especially before we tried to exterminate the beavers. Our modern straight deep cut canal like things that we call rivers are not natural rivers. I'm glad you're rediscovering real water flow.

I'm starting to imagine something can go wrong with water running on the soil. Maybe it can remove nutriments too much. I will be interested in observing if there will be difference in what will grow. Btw the goose looks amazing

All of your trees and plants(everything with roots) is pumping exudates and mineral from deep in the soil. I am not concerned about leeching. Your progress toward growing living soil is so far unexplored, and the extra deep water speed the process as your fauna will have better access to deep water this summer for the first time in a century+.

Trickle, stream 😁 mini, waterfall ❤️ I struggle with translating Spanish > English, English > Spanish. I would like to recommend some shrubbery type plants, mid height, not trees, not ground cover, that have tap roots, that break into your soil. Maybe they could be for flowers, or fruits, or vegetation, or mulch, or companions supporting other plants. Are there plants that can do these things please?
@SuerteDelMolinoFarm

TELL ME! Which plants can do that? You can write to me in Spanish. Much appreciated
@YulkGhuit
@YulkGhuit 10 күн бұрын
@ I am a native English speaker 🙂 I tried to use google translate to search in Spanish for these plants so they would be from the region, country, you now live 🙂 My lack of understanding of Spanish, even after trying to retranslate back to English, lead to nothing. I am hoping with your Spanish skills you could learn better 😊 My original idea is that it is easier to establish shrubs, lower plants, so that trees you want to grow have some canopy, shade cover, companion planting, and you would always have various stages of forest growth 😁 I recall seeing all the holm oaks that germinate but without support, cover, they do not endure the summers. I follow your dream to walk from one end of your land to the other in shade 🌳 🌴 🌲 🌳
