I think regenerative agriculture should only be used when the costs of intensive agriculture outweigh the benefit of cheap crops. For example, when the land is already degraded or fertiliser becomes expensive.

I don't know if what I do is the right approach but at my level, with a suburban garden, I try to grow year in year more of my own vegetables. I am targeting to have some chickens too. I try to avoid importing compost or wood chips as much as possible, it should be regenerative. This way, by exchanging lawn by vegetable garden I hope to free other land, preferable forest area.

Hypocrisy springs to mind. If you can't do it then write a book about it - and make big bucks along the way. The vast majority of farmers are worried about the populist rise in environmental issues because of the impact it will have o their bottom line. Like a thief that has got caught of course they are sorry - sorry they got caught! I have farmed organically for over 50 years. I have a degree in agriculture from which I learned that if the blind follow the blind then we destroy that which we have had the great privilege to be custodian of. I am a rich man because I can go to my grave content that everywhere I farmed I left the soil richer, the water purer and nature stronger. I fI had been paid pennies for every hour I worked and every drop of sweat I shed I would have a fortune in the bank. My fortune is that John Deere and Monsanto would be bust if left upt me. If everyone saw the butterflies in the hedgebacks and heard the skylark trilling and realised they are priceless then we are all richer. One can do what ones soul tells one is right or follow Mammon. My fear is that we have sold our souls to such an extent that we are beyond getting them back.

You can't complain on a full stomach or talk with your mouth full. Mislead experts and wannabe's cause 99.9% of problems. This woman is a hippie who has no idea whatsoever.
