@Kitschead i did say "playing". chris dave is the perfect blend of technicality and groove, etc. someone can always take an easy style of playing and blow it up. reggae is also easy to "just play", but every kind of music takes a while to actually master.

For me, Topper Headon did an amazing job by playing some reggae back in UK in the punk scene. It's just not about being jamaican or english, rocker or reggae or making one drop beats just to justifie the reggae stylee, it's about the bassline riddim you can get by making percussion.
@Shotgunpoff16 жыл бұрын
I like this style. Im more into my rock drumming but well done.

@mikesweet69 hip hop is a pretty easy genre to play. he should really get into jazz or latin beats, those take a ton of skill.

quizas metiendo menos arreglos y siguiendo mas el riddim suene mejor, esta bastante cargado con arreglos que no siguen ningun patron, humilde opinion, te recomiendo sacar temas de steel pulse, sly& robbie, roots radics bless

Purity was never the goal. Reggae itself was an updated version of rocksteady, which was same to ska, which was a twist on the rhythm & blues... it goes on forever. Plus this beat is just NASTY.
@shuckslbj8 ай бұрын
I know you knew all that but just reminding you that feel matters more than tradition. But also, this would work on a lot of faster reggae songs like Could You Be Loved or some of the Wailing Souls' late 70s/early 80s output.
