Critics run the world because people have closed their minds. People who can understand and appreciate music are almost as rare as the pros that play it.

There's one particular memory, vivid & crystal clear, that still crosses my mind almost daily. ***** am I? How many BASS players successfully run their own side projects. Singers and Guitarists do it all the time. There was Sixx AM but where did that go. They were pretty good but seriously a "famous" bass player is not enough to support a band. Look at Snake Pit, Slash is enough to stimulate that. Many singers go out on solo projects. Bass is a lonely instrument and bass players are usually weirdos and unstable and unfortunately those who are actually good and cool people get lumped in with the losers who "just cant play guitar".

Bassists are majorily bums because the mass of them who pick up the instrument are slackers who just want an easy instrument they can sit in the back with and be considered part of the band. Most never strive to actually become "good" and sit there playing root notes behind the guitar barely ever doing even a fill. I know this because I play bass, drums and some guitar but bass primarily. Look in the media the bass is always the butt of the jokes. Many TV shows, movies and video games mock the bassist. Why do you think this is? Do you think it was just picked that way? No, its because they are mostly lazy slackers and unless you are a VERY basscentric band (primus) you really wont get noticed. Ever notice at comments people love the guitar solos and drum solos but could give a crap if the bass ever solos, which 99.99999999% cant even do. If you are looking for ANY recognition, do not play bass. Dont get me wrong I Love playing my basses but its not a very rewarding instrument if you EVER want to be considered an actual integral part of the band. Also your last comment is almost unreadable and makes little sense.

***** Oh yes how did you know, I was raped by a bassist. Luckily it was a bassist though so he had NO IDEA what he was doing and was AWFUL at it. It was actually a forced blow job. I tried to stop him but he just started blowing me and wouldn't quit. I tried to tell him "YOUR DOING IT WRONG" and he didnt listen. Just sat there in his own world, doing the same motion over and over like whacking at that third fret on the E string. Yes maybe instruments compliment each other but for the effort why not let people know. If you play bass you will be the least paid, get no recognition and NEVER be famous. Wish someone told me. All I ever heard was youll always have work and everyone needs a bassist. Well thats simply because NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY BASS.
