Not to mention he was backed by peter and Richard, I'm sure that had huge impact on shops wanting it, it's not what you know it's who you know, Levi may have best sauce in the world but if it wasn't for peter and Richard , I'm sorry to say the odds of him succeeding is probably 10% and I'm being kind with that figure and also it may seem like I'm a jealous person but I'm just stating something very obvious and let's be honest true. I will accept I will be hated for my comment but I really don't give a flying fuck about any keyboard warriors virtual hate.

Yep, duncan was probably right, there's no business in this, but with the help of those two dragons, the product launched into stratosphere
@SdoubleA4 жыл бұрын
It's true, the likelihood of Levi finding another investor with his business acumen at the time was essentially 0, and to scale up the sauce and produce it in Wales or another factory would require serious logistical intelligence if he went out on his own. Most likely would've failed. The dragons got their reward in the end though.

Levi and his sauce did well to survive the embarrassing court case that proved he lied in saying his recipe originated with his dear old mum in Jamaica. Levi's success was about a gap in the market rather than his sauce being unique - in reality, for some reason, nobody had ever thought to try mass producing a spicy jerk sauce in the UK, before.
@blazemonger14 жыл бұрын
Marketing stories like that are told every day and while in this case the originator was forced to reveal it was not true, at the same time the reason for the case (a claim he did not in fact come up with the recipe) was dismissed.
@thwalesproductions3 жыл бұрын
There was no evidence to back up those claims
@Wally-H3 жыл бұрын
@@thwalesproductions Yes there was. The case was dismissed because his former business partner couldn't prove that he had co-invented the sauce, but the judge told Levi in no uncertain terms that claiming it was his mother's unique recipe was out of order. The statement on the bottles making that claim was then removed - an admission, if there ever was one, by Levi that it was a false claim.

I am pleased for levi, but I'm saddened that he couldn't do it without the greed of peter jones, and richard farleigh. Levi roots drinks if they are anything to go by the dragons have had a massive influence on. They have 2% real fruit juice in them, tonnes of colourings and additives, and taste like sink cleaner. I would bet the dragons made levi 'modify' his original recipe to maximise profits like with his drinks.
@flyagaric16077 жыл бұрын
I understand that, but i just don't like the way in which people have to beg these days to someone with clout, money ,and influence, in order to succeed. Credit to levi. I can't take anything away from him. I love those who walked out with no investment and still made it big. Those dragons although do indeed help people who would otherwise fail, are still greedy fxxxs

you can guarantee what is sold in the shops is 100 per cent different to what levi brought into the dragons den. look at any supermarket product, full of additives, preservatives and chemicals. the original sauce would have just been all natural ingredients
@MK-rk4no6 жыл бұрын
The dragons made it possible for him to make it big. It's not just about the 50k he needed, these dragons have the best business leads, expertise, marketing team etc, so what they brought to Levi was probably worth more that 5 million rather than just 50k.
