Hello from Seattle! Thanks for another great lesson. I have a couple questions. Around 3:13 when you're strumming the chord progression, what note do you add to the D minor chord at the end? I hear this in a lot of old rocksteady tunes - a note is added to a chord and the strumming pattern changes a bit. Around 3:40, what are those 3 or 4 chords you play after the bridge (Cmaj, Gmaj,Em)? Thanks again for your videos!

What your opinion of when to upstroke vs downstroke the chord? Do u feel up stroking the chords like brighter and more urgent?
@sempertern3 жыл бұрын
Reggae goes downstroke usually, but no one says you can’t play upstrokes too
@playreggaeguide9 ай бұрын
To be honest I use both! But it’s mostly down strokes.

Tracking the bass has its own terminology in reggae. It is called the stuck line.

Greetings!! Whenever I’m doing a reggae strum, when I release the strings to mute them, I find i get a twangy sound as if the strings are bending. What might I be doing wrong?
